Do them rear tires fit on the FG 18mm square hub ?
@RowhiderRCRacing

No you need a specific square hub: Yankee is selling an FG square adapter but I don't know if a Yankee hub will fit with FG shaft

If this is custom built. You can improve the the stablity by putting the weight on the rear
@RowhiderRCRacing

That's not custom build. Adding to weight could be a solution but with consequences on the overhaul balance.

I am a rank novice to scale car r/c racing. It seems that an electric motor holds the fastest speed at 202 mph. In your opinion, can piston-engined car compete with that?
@RowhiderRCRacing
4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if there is a clear interest to go so fast. 110km/h or 60Mph is far enough. But to be clear, there is no limit in Electric power: the only limitation is the power that can handle your ESC and the size of your car to put lipos. That's all. For piston-engined car, a 3,5cc max will not be powerfull enough to go so fast. You have to find a bigger engine but where? This kind of engine don't exist in RC world.

Once you start racing you will find it easy to have a car that is too fast for you to keep on the track. Many times the fastest cars are not the winning cars. The cars that win are the cars that finish the race and stay on the track. Control is the key to winning.

Yeah! It has been tested on a special 1/3 scale rc car, but required a very high electronic level: ping is very important with wifi nor stocks FPV system, more usable with flying drones than for racing cars.

It's funny that SEGA (most innovative gaming company) actually had attempted something like this back in the 80s. It was called *SEGA Super Circuit* reassembler.blogspot.com/2018/06/sega-super-circuit.html Which ran a bunch of camera mounted RC cars on a nice SEGA designed course with players sitting in repurposed SEGA arcade cabinets that received video feed and allowed you to control the RC cars from the cab around the track.

And here's some rare video I just found of the *SEGA Super Circuit* video controlled RC cars. SEGA was really ahead of the game in 80s arcades. kzitem.info/news/bejne/uaeb3pmrjYJhfmU

In part only: the track was sliding but F1 cars rear tires are very hard for this kind of RC cars. If you look at the McLaren-like Brushless F1: the power is so huge that rear tires turn to balloon under the acceleration! You have to be very gentle on it, same thing with my Ferrari 330P4 which run with exactly the same setup than this F1.

The tires are too firm. A lower inflation and/or compound is needed. I do not know if they make foamies that big but those would work best overall, even if they wear like melting ice in Death Valley.
@RowhiderRCRacing
4 жыл бұрын
For sure, but now 4th scale F1 is very rare: maybe 20 cars in running state in France. No industrial maker would accept to developp a new tyre fore that market: so we have to do with. Foams are by far the last solution: ugly, costly...
@DEADmetal3

The tires are too wide. They don't heat up enough with such driving. Also, you want to increase the downforce.
@RowhiderRCRacing
6 жыл бұрын
Žilvinas Deveika You are not totally wrong. Tires shape is trapezoidal to reduce the contact surface with the track. The True raison is that these tires are far too hard for a such power. These tires are specific to these F1 models and no tires manufacturer would produce new tires for a so limited quantity

Alex piv These cars have been building in 1993 for the first one and afterthat at the request of the Benetton F1 Team in 1994 to make the Schumacher B194 car model. This special model has been put in Benetton headquarters. An european fourth scale F1 championnish has been launched the same year until 2003 I guess. You can always buy these F1 models at the Yankee-Legend website. If you want a brushless one, you just have to ask. Eveything is possible 😀

First off I will say beautiful cars! Now the truth... Sadly these are some very ill handling machines that do not properly represent the Pinnacle of automotive racing technology nor RC car racing! They need HELP! Tire design/compound, suspension and surface need some rethinking! Maybe something as simple as track prep with VHT or even fruit punch syrup would make a world of difference!? At this point those cars are rolling around the track like on a formation or parade lap not racing! Please search for a solution to the terrible oversteer and lack of rear wheel grip for these amazing works of art! They deserve proper representation... 🏎️💨☝️💛👍🏁
