I wonder what my vicar (Rev Gayle Greenway) would think of this. She has been vicar for four years!

10:47 Narrator: As well as one day visits like this, the students have also been sent on several placements throughout the year. First year Rachel Simpson, the youngest student at the college, has been sent back to school. Children: Bore da, Mrs [?]aynan, bore da blant. Teacher: Now this morning we’re very lucky because Rachel’s here and Rachel’s going to help me with the story this morning. Rachel: “Let me tell you a story”, said Jesus to the crowd one day, a story all about… Narrator: This morning, Rachel is helping out with the assembly at St Monica’s, a primary school run by the Church in Wales. Youth is not the only standout fact about Rachel: vicaring also runs in the family, as both her parents wear dog collars. But on a visit to the college, her mother confesses that Rachel was never encouraged to sign up to the course. Rachel’s mother: I’m really glad she’s doing it and I encourage her but I wouldn’t have, I wouldn’t have suggested it, ‘cos I think it’s, um, it’s the sort of thing you’ve got to be positive you want to do. Up until the last few years they’ve actually wanted people to have a bit more experience before they go to college. ‘Cos there are lots of people now who take early retirement and then train, the age profile has shot up so there’s loads and loads of older people in ministry and hardly any younger ones, so, um. When I went through selection they, they wouldn’t have let anybody in at Rachel’s age but fortunately they’ve seen the error of their ways so there’ll be a few more young people around, which is good.
