Great video, guys! I played the pro v for years until switching to the Vice Pro last and have not looked back! The vice pro checks every box for me at almost half the price. And my scoring average has gone down a stroke and a half the last year. I play at a 4 handicap, been playing 40 years, and this ball does exactly what the Titleist does for me. Trust the video also and give the vice pro a try. You will not be disappointed.

The first time I played Pro V1 balls, the early early version, I snap hooked two of them into a water hazard on the first hole. Since then my criteria for ball purchases have been 1. Are they round? 2. Do they cost less than dinner? Actually, I really liked the Srixon balls that you are/ were using in your fitting sessions. For me, they’re perfect.

For full shots, this Vice ball s looks very good. However, I find the ProV1 just chips so much better than all the other balls when hitting flops shots or low shots that need to bite quickly - most balls just seem to release another metre or two more than the ProV1. I remember Ian saying something to the effect of getting a ball for chipping and then match that ball to a driver.

I played the Vice Pro since 3 years, for me the difference I can see on pro v1 and vice pro is on 2 element, the first one is on putting, the pro v1 seem to have a softer feel than the vice pro, so i need to use a little bit of more power….so on putting I prefer the vice pro….and the other differences is on spinning, usually with vice pro if a hit a wedge the reaction with the vice I always or most of the time the same, hit the green and a little forward bounce , very rarely some back spin. And for pro v1 I can get sometimes too much back spin, and I am not a guy who like to play past the pin and planning back spin….so that’s why I prefer vice pro, I can play the yardage. I am 60, handicap 5, swing speed on driver average 95 - 97…rarely hit 100mph, and my low is 92. Financial wise is Vice pro with the deal 5 dozen

Have some kind of chart that shows, these balls spin the most, these spin the less, these launch higher these are faster. And maybe split them up in a swing speed bracket.... I know asking a lot! But I think people could do a lot of troubleshooting of their own ball flights if they utilized information that you provide which is non biased compared to what every ball advert says that it’s the best, fastest most played, spins more goes further blah blah blah

@@kevinallibone9214 That's true, but I think it gives a reasonably good reference. Vice Pro seems to have improved ball speed slightly since then. These are not much cheaper than ProV1s, and they certainly are nowhere near “half the price.” Today, the Vice Pro are $35.99/dozen. With standard shipping (which I’ll note Vice’s site says takes 15-20 days), the total is $42.98 before tax. That comes to $3.58/ball, which is only $0.59/ball cheaper than ProV1s ($49.95/dozen, or $4.17/ball). Edit: Even if you take advantage of their bulk pricing and order 5 dozen, that plus standard shipping is $151.94 before tax, which comes out to $2.53/ball. That’s obviously much cheaper than ProV1s, but still not half as much.

@kgeyedoc
4 жыл бұрын
Spin helps with duck hooks? I always figured it was too much spin...
@wallstreetoneil
4 жыл бұрын
@@kgeyedoc the draw that becomes a diving hook is falling out of the air because it doesn't have enough backspin to hold the ball 'more' online and in the air. I'm not talking about a high in the air 50 yard overdraw that is because of poor face to path control and induced curvature. Modern drivers have all become lower spinning - trying to find that optimal & playable 2000-2300 rpm spin window - but 1700rpms is a cliff where if you have any spin axis tilt and don't have enough speed and angle of launch then draws have a way of diving hard and left (right-handers) - so using a ball with 300 more rpms of spin can literally save your drive - but you will give up a few yards of carry. All of the previous is why many of the tour guys live in the 2300-2500 spin window with their drivers - they have enough speed and launch and that little extra spin 'controls' the curvature at the expense of a few yards more carry - and mostly all of them have moved to hitting fades (which is basically a 1 word summary of all of the above)

I found one of the Vice Pro Plus golf balls on my golf course and I was totally shocked at the distance, control, spin, and durability of the 2020 balls. Playing the ball for 4 rounds before I lost it in a water hazard, the ball was amazingly similar to the Titleist ProV1 X ball or the TaylorMade TP5-X, but for some reason I was hitting it a little farther and I scored some of the best rounds of the year with it. So I decided to purchase some and ordered the 5 Dozen Lime Green Vice Pro Plus golf balls, because the prize to buy 5 dozen dropped to $25 a dozen! I am simply amazed at how well they perform and in all categories, especially off the tee. Irons, hybrids, chipping & putting, is outstanding....just like the other top two golf balls, but for some reason it just has that bit more roll out or flight than the them with the driver. I am completely overwhelmed by these balls and could not recommend them more highly. BTW - I love the "Lime" green" balls, simply because they are much easier for me to pick up the flight and see the lines on the greens.

Vice Pro balls are $66.99 a dozen plus $14.99 shipping ($81.98 total) and I have to wait for them to arrive. It's a shame really, but the performance seems quite good but cost wise it doesn't make sense for me to spend $5 more on something I've never tried.

To get Vice priced so they are cheaper than the ProVs, you have to buy 5 dozen. If price is it, then every spring Titleist does their "buy 3, get one dozen free" logo'd ball (and now no logos if you don't want them) and it gets the per dozen cost down into the mid $30 range. To US golfers, Titleist are made in America... all things being equal, that should give their ball the nod. And if you are a german golfer, maybe that makes Vice more attractive.
