Thank you so much for reacting to "CHENTE", Jamal, you made me smile, cry, and remember a favorite beautiful moment of my Mama. She swears "Chente" blew her a kiss at a concert she went to in OKC. She screamed his name in a rare moment of silence at his concert, and he blew her the kiss. She says she reached up and grabbed it and put it on her heart! She would swoon every time she told that story! My sister bought her the tickets for her birthday and says every bit of the story was true. My sister had mariachis come and sing Volver, Volver when she passed away. I can't listen to this song now without bawling my eyes out. But I still listen to it.

Hi Brother Jamel, I wanted to share my Story with You, I grew up in Los Angeles , California .. and when I was in my youth about 5/6 years ( early 70's ) old My Mom took me to My First Concert / Live Performance ever and It was Vicente Fernandez. It was at The Famous Million Dollar Theater in Downtown Los Angeles. First We would Go To another Los Angeles Landmark Cliftons Restaurant then the Theater. And when I had seen Vicente as a Child I was Shocked By the Power of his Voice. If you noticed where he positions the microphone when he hits the high notes it's by his Stomach area. ( The only other person I know to do that was The Legend of Marvin Gaye but that was English and Another Story ) The mariachi was about 20+ strong so you can imagine how Beautiful it sounded Live. The horn section was Incredible. After seeing him I became a Musician myself by the age of 8 and still at the age of 56 I'm still performing. He left His Footprint in Millions of People around the World , Now that he's gone his Legacy Lives on Forever. RIP Vicente " Chente " Fernandez Gomez .. Thanks for the Video, God Bless Brother .. This is the song you put on when the party is dying down and everyone is stumbling drunk. Then all of a sudden everyone sobers up and sings along. You just enjoyed him in his early years, when he started to build his great name, when his popularity impulse him to work in films, tv, radio, etc. Now, with his more than 80 years... you have to compare his perfomance, alive, time is not affecting this one of our best mexican treasures. Check this: kzitem.info/news/bejne/yJCMsZmVaaBop5w Even he is now retired from scenarios because his health (he has cancer), he has his entire voice and he still say when is performing a concert: "Mientras ustedes me aplaudan yo seguiré cantando" and he could be singing around 2-3 hours.

Ohhhh Maann!! LoL!! Wowwww. Who Requested THIS!!? Okay Ya'll this is how the story goes... My mother, half Spanard and half Sicilian (European) My father Native-Amarican, both liked this guy and his singing. Lol I've got quite a mixture of blood in me. LoL! My Mother... LOVED this song. She loved this guy, the way he sang. Now listen, I came from a mixture of a whole lot of genres of music. Old timey blues, country, soul, classic rock, my own Native American music and Yes Mexican. So! This guy was coming to our town in a parade and I was just maybe 3yrs old. So my parents made sure that they were gonna be at the front-lines of this parade for one reason. That's Right! To see this guy up close and listen to him sing. Now, my mother was holding me cause my father wanted to' in hopes Shake this man's hand. But What Surprised Them Both when he came clomping along on one of his horses all decked out in his Mexican outfit all glittery and a big sombrero hat like in this video... He saw my parents and indeed he did give my father a handshake. But what he did next... He reached down to my mother's arms where I was and took me from her arms and rode me around in a small circle in front of my parents in this parade and placed me back in my mother's arms. He told her that I was the prettiest baby he had ever seen and that my little lace dress was an even match. Whaaat!! My mother and father apparently we're in shock. I guess I was too cause my mother said I didn't even cry. It was almost as if I already knew the man. My mother and father had a story to tell about this singer. How friendly he was and how genuine his soul was for loving people and music. Woww! I heard this and it brought tears to my eyes. Both my parents have passed on long ago and this was quite a treat. But even moreso was to see your reaction and your genuine love and opened mind for such music. Whew!! Good One yes indeed.♥️♥️♥️
