So sad. This is how many stereotypes began. Women took it at face value and thought it was the right way to behave because women weren't supposed to have a sex drive. This was considered course and low class. Men on the other hand, expecting to have sex rarely in their marriage meant that it was acceptable for them to go elsewhere to satisfy their urges. It's still the way many people think (religious eg), and it's not healthy. Without proper sex education This misunderstanding continues. The Christian right doesn't want their children to know that sex can be wonderful and fulfilling, in or out of marriage. It only causes problems within a marriage if women withhold sex, or don't know it's OK to enjoy it, and men become resentful.
@chronic_payne5669

Don’t know what” Christian Right” You’re talking about, But the one I belong to taught me to: 1: husband AND Wife should equally be there for one another, emotionally, and physically ( sexually) And that sex is the “ ultimate union “ . And we teach that to our kids. So don’t know “ who” you are referring to as the Christian Right, and them not wanting women knowing anything going into marriage. I believe it was a “cultural thing”, more then a religious thing.
