Nice and quick. Professionally done. It left me with more questions than answers.

@richmarriott7468 we think it's pretty easy! But everything we sell has a manual included with it as well. You can also always call us to troubleshoot if you're having issues!

One thing for people to remember with DC circuit breakers, you want the higher potential wire to go into the positive side of the CB. So the positive wires from the solar panels would go into the side of the CB with the + sign and then the wire on the other side of the CB would go to the charge controller. The positive wire to the battery should be connected to the + sign on the CB and the other wire goes to the charge controller. This protects wires if there is a short in the charge controller and the batteries will then have the higher potential. I just learned this recently myself.

One of the better videos out there those little breaker boxes are really nice for using your in and out to a small inverter as it will give you a main in and out with two separate load breakers. If running a generator one breaker from the generator one from shore power on the inputs and you have two breakers for your outputs. I usually put a 5 amp breaker on a circuit to an outside plug on my rig I go very low on the amperage so that if somebody tries to plug in there AC while I'm gone it will trip the breaker and they won't drain my batteries as I've had this happen to me from others in the campground plugging in and draining my batteries.

Wow, I am installing one of these today, very timely! You only need one 100/50 unit for (edit: 24v system, yours here is 12v, my bad!) four 325 watt Rec-N-Peak panels if you connect them in series-parallel (two series pairs in parallel). Thanks!

I wish we could see the wiring better after finishing, or that it was explained better. You have a total of 8 cables (4 each charge controller) and only 4 breakers. Either you are stuffing 2 cables in each breaker or using a negative busbar that is never shown in the video (I'm guessing the latter), is that safe? only using the breakers on the positive side and having all the negatives in one shared connection?

You say "we're using lithium batteries..." Are you using Li-Ion or LiFePo batteries and does it make a difference? I used the rotary switch set to position 7 for LiFePo4 batteries, of which I have 2 wired in parallel instead of using expert mode. Default settings have equalization off. Do you see any problem with that? Thanks.

Nice video. Does the unit have an internal temperature sensor, or does low temp charge protection only become functional if you use the wireless temp/volt sensor?
@NAZSolarElectric

Thank you. The Victron controllers have an internal sensor but also can be linked to an external temperature sensor for more accurate thermal monitoring. There are several ways to do this.

Battleborn told me to put a 300 amp fuse at the battery on the positive terminal. Also my panels two, 24V 200w each) wired in series produce a total of 48.6v and the panels are 10.8 amps. If the charge controller is 100/30, do I still need a breaker between the panels and the controller??

Hi - considering where to mount my Victron charge controller and found this video very helpful! One question - my manual (for the Smart 100/20) indicates the controller should be mounted on a non-flammable substrate. What are you using for a mounting surface? Thanks!

Hey James, question for the Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 100/20-48V is an auto-sensing 12v, 24v and 48v 20 Amp MPPT Solar Charge Controller. Can the load be set to turn on at a lower (12v) than the cut off (14v)? My intent is to wire a speed controller out of the load wired to a 12v motor to operate via chain drive 2x 350w turbine generators wired parallel for 700w ran into the PV port. Ofcourse the battery bank would be ran off of the battery port. This would allow the charge controller to monitor the battery bank and turn the motor on the run the generators to recharge the battery bank and turn off the motor when the battery bank is recharged.

I guess you’ve just answered my question in regards to 3x 200 amp in parallel 600 amp. I have these batteries in a boat on the hardstand being charged with a Victron IP67 on 240 volts. The boat has a genset which will be used to charge these house batteries. I have bought Victron Smart Solar MPPT100/50 to use when suns available and aSmart shunt 500A/ 50mV. Will I need a manual isolating switch to use when using either source of energy. Thankyou
