Really interesting video. I used to catch flounders in Portsmouth harbour and more recently in Poole harbour and they did taste muddy, especially those from Pompey. However on fishing trips to Ireland where you catch plenty of flounders from the open sandy Atlantic storm beaches they tasted delicious and not muddy at all.

Hi Dave, I'm glad you enjoy watching it. I've never had a muddy flounder in the 13 years I've been netting the beaches ,and to be fare I don't want one 🤭. They are very meaty in the summer time here and get some cracking fillets of them. My dog loves them.

Hi mate thanks forthe great videos. Can i ask if i need a licence to fish like this im the uk ? I m in the severn estuary area also so how far out do you need to place thesenets as its quicksand round here and a deadly bristol channel tide ! Cheers

Hi pal, thank you for your kind words and glad you enjoy them. With regard to licencing I don't need one just a permit for my areas fisheries office. I'm unsure of the buy laws in your area as other fisheries have their own rule and reg on fishing. My best advice is to contact them.
