@@nwcoastalfishing2172 it's similar to yours on the video going to use for shrimp off the beach originally it had a solid bit of wood along the bottom which has rotted and snapped

Sounds like a push net that you have. You won't need a tickler chain as the wood on the botton causes a wave in frount of the net to kick the shimps up in the the net.

@@nwcoastalfishing2172 thanks defo a trawl the 'mouth' was a bit of wood at the bottom two iron up rights either side and bit of round wood along the top. It was tied on 3 points with the tow rope so it kinda righted its once under tow

@@andrewbunn775 ah i get picture now. It's like mine i've make a 5ft one as a spare. The wood is what keeps the net open and gives it the name beam trawl. I would replace it with 22mm box tube or less so you can atleast pull it. When doing the towing point, make sure all three points are the same 8ft, this is so the net fishes staight. You can put a tickler on it, with your net being 8ft you want the chain tickler at 7.5ft in lenth so that when fishing the tickler is just in frount of the main foot rope. I'll put a little video of my net so you have the best chance of getting it spot on.

Hi Adam, glad you like it i'am putting the shrimp net away until the shrimps start later in the year after that fishing. I have only tryed weaver fish after i have boiled the shrimps and it was nice i must say. I maybe i will i'll have ago at frying them. I only take the bady flats out if the weavers are big i take them out. I would loose fishing time if i took all the weaver fish out so i only take a few out. My boy had the Dover sole for his tea tonight so fresh and taste lovely.
