I feel this is video is more about general principles that apply to every aspect of life rather than specifically to film making I feel the title and introduction promise more than they deliver. The training would be more effective and memorable if Antony shared with us the stories of how he came to learn each of these points the hard way.

These rules are equally applicable to building a software project or video game. Replace "director" with "architect" and "producer" with "director". Great stuff! Thanks for posting it.

I wonder why the audio is so dislocated from the video image. It's great audio quality but the video shows a guy standing in a studio setting talking with a lav mic and the audio sounds like voice over or really really compressed and cleaned audio from the mic. If there's suck a disconnect between the audio and video it seems wrong. Yes you can really compress the hell out of your audio but if all the visuals you have are a talking head shot then why go to the length of putting a guy in a studio setting. He could have made that voice over at home at you could have used simple b-roll to illustrate his point. Next why tell the tip of "thinking multiple plans through" directed at Indie directors when the reason they're indie directors is because they're mentally incapable of thinking things through in the first place. If they thought things through they wouldn't be indie producers/directors. Thinking is hard especially if you just spent 30 minutes styling your hair and you're now wearing a stupid beanie...thinking is hard when your skinny jeans are a little too tight.

Anthony Q. Artis is, by far, my favorite instructor. I have his 'Shut Up and Shoot Documentary Guide' and his 'Indie Film Boot Camp' DVD set. He's helped me learn more about filmmaking than any other instructor, and I have watched MANY tutorials. He knows his stuff and he's a great teacher. These 10 tips certainly apply to filmmaking and are worth paying attention to..
