King Khufu (Cheops) خوفو
The great pyramid of King Khufu خوفو was built as a cemetery| with small pyramids for his wives next to it King Khufu had three wives and nine sons and daughters. The pyramid of Khufu consists of:
An entrance, a ramp
a ground chamber, a small ascending corridor, a horizontal vault or cellar,
a big ascending corridor, a front chamber, |the King's chamber and decompression chambers
the queen chamber, baptistry well, the great gallery, |a vestibule /atrium/ foyer, and 2 ventilation channels.
the pyramid of Khufu is considered one of the| seven wonders of the world.
the underground chamber also known "al nikra"
this chamber is very wide having a length of 46 feet from east to west
and width of 27 feet from north to south
its height is 11 feet and 6 inches
the queen's chamber length is 18 feet |and 10 inches from east to west
17 feet and 2 inches from north to south
and its ceiling is 20 feet and 5 inches high
The king's chamber is inside the heart of the pyramid
it is all built from granite which was brought from Aswan
Its length is 34 feet and 4 inches from east to west
17 feet and 2 inches from north to south
and its height is 19 feet and 1 inch
the walls are built of 5 courses or, rows of stones adjacent one to the other
The pyramid of Khufu was built on a base (Mastaba)| its side length is 230.5 m, its height is 146.5 m |with an angle 51.50°
it consists of 2.5 million of stone bricks, the average weight of which is about 2.5 tons
total weight of stones is about 7 million tons
King Khufu hired 100,000 workers to build his pyramid
In the Easter side of the pyramid rest the family of King Khufu
ِt the western and southern sides of the pyramid rest the nobles, statesmen, administrative corps, and priests
Aware of the safety of his body after death, Khufu sealed the entrance of the great pyramid from the inside by 3 huge plates of granites
Khufu created the most elaborate of the funerary boats. His ship, made of tamarix (salt cedar), is credited with being the most famous of these boats. This ship was fully intact at the time it was discovered. It had been sealed into a pit at the Great Pyramid at Giza around 2,500 BC. This ship was intended to carry Khufu to the Sun God, Ra, while together they sailed the heavenly Nile.

• The only Khufu statue in existence is a three inch high ivory statue discovered at Abydos.
