I wouldn’t say she is upperclass. There are far more girls in families that are really upperclass. But Lea is very, very intelligent. She graduated Valedictorian in high school and was taking a pre-medicine undergraduate in university when the audition for Miss Saigon came along.

Why is it that most of them have very fast vibrato
@hillmiss1736
3 жыл бұрын
This video is a speeded up version of the documentary. However, even then, vibrato was a very essential element to professional singing. Some of them had unnatural fast pitch fluctuating voices but it worked for the time era. Singers like Edith Piaf had very rapid vibratos. Lea's here, was very even since it was produced by proper air pressure. Wobbly voices though, were existent too - like Operatic Music's Maria Callas. You've noticed something that is absolutely important - the evolution of singing. Back then, legato lines and vibrato were what's important and now, belts and high notes are taking the cake.
@HelloWorld-ev9sg

@@hillmiss1736 Exactly. I also don't understand why mediocre singers who can belt are more praised than classically trained singers nowadays.
@hillmiss1736
3 жыл бұрын
@@HelloWorld-ev9sg Well, it really is not fair to compare classically trained vocalists to the new stream of "belters". They have their own weaknesses and strengths regardless. What makes the crowds more drawn to belting nowadays is that sense of excitement that the sound typically carries, especially when it's done in an efficient fashion.
@HelloWorld-ev9sg
