I recommend to anyone to develop a distinctive knock for yourself that auditorily identifies you to people in your ingroup. You never HAVE to use the knock, of course, if for some reason you would prefer to NOT identify yourself at the door, but in practice it can be a very useful shortcut to effortlessly tell your friends and family who's knocking. Vigilante uses the popular motif "Shave and a haircut" (omitting the "two bits"). Any short, distinguishable rhythmic sequence can work - Mario music (eg. na-knock knock na-knock KNOCK, knock), "I have a bad case of diarrhea" (dot dada-dot dot dada-dada-dada), that one big drum break in that Genesis song, or whatever.

Stimming is repetitive self-stimulatory behaviour which is used to regulate emotions and/or senses, so dancing is often used as a stim, since it’s used to process sensory input and emotions. Auditory is to do with hearing, so choosing to listen to music (like at 10:08) is auditory stimming. Vestibular is to do with your sense of balance, so rocking movements during dancing or moving your whole body (like at 10:14) is vestibular stimming. Proprioception is to do with awareness of your body and the ability to move specific parts of your body, so moving your fingers in a certain pattern (like at 10:08) is proprioceptive stimming. note - stimming is something which everyone does (including neurotypicals)

As an autistic person, although I think it’s a positive step towards inclusion to include an autistic character in the show, it’s also kind of saddening to me that, once again, their symptoms are made into a gag and the characters around them treat them as if they’re dumb and annoying for displaying autistic characteristics. Why can’t we just have a piece of media where a character just so happens to be autistic and ISN’T the butt of the joke and misliked/ostracized by the other characters?

Is it possible that in the later years that you can see the autism a little clearer? I feel like some of these things are common but the emotions and things are kinda similar to myself. Mostly thinking crazy stuff is awesome but also the part where i dont wanna give away too much so i keep the mask on. I feel like Vigilante and i would be similar but hes a bit worse, like half. Butttt i do say ive always wanted to be a ninja, im super quiet, i love bladed weapons as well, its actually kinda weird how similar but i still think it may be common. yep and the difficulty in all the emotions. Im not as blind to the emotion and understandings but i still feel weird and express love in a similar way to the blindness. its weird. Yep, max empathy for animals.

yes, some people find that they realise their autistic traits later in life, because they recognise that they were masking when they were a child, so everyone around them thought they were neurotypical a lot of the traits in this video are just common autistic traits rather stuff that’s required for a diagnosis, so remember that directly relating to vigilante doesn’t necessarily mean you’re autistic

Tbf most depiction and things mention are sign of him being a true psychopath. Sure there is some of those things that work from different spectrum such as low empathy, but i think for vigilante's case he's just a true psycho

Something I think is actually really cool (and shown at 5:34) is that autistic people have incredibly high empathy, so much so we'll feel sorry for inanimate objects like plushies. We just have a very hard time expressing this to people. I like the think this is why tend to use personal anecdotes to relate to people instead whatever "normal" people do. Vigilante is just built different. And I love him for that

I don't know if it was intentional or not, but when he kills the family, he begins for the son and the wife first, so then the father feels completly hopeless and empty, this was used on The house that Jack built too

Great movie, but I don't think it's a reference to that, other movies have similar scenes, one of the Sicario movies has a similar scene too.

The term “sociopath” has a lot of different connotations than what ASPD really is, so people using the term sociopath do not usually actually mean ASPD. most of his ASPD traits are also Autistic traits (like low empathy), and he doesn’t have other significant ASPD traits like “purposeful manipulation of others for personal gain” and “not caring for personal relationships except for personal gain”, so I don’t believe he has ASPD

This gave me a more appreciation of the show. Def makes characters feel real and they did a shit ton of research (and maybe just know some people) with autism. It also gave me a more understanding of how a lot of my friends with autism act.

I have high ADHD (not autism, i think? - its so hard when they share so many symptoms). But its always great to see actual well done representation to neurodivergency! Especially if its not shoved in your face for internet points, usually not even being well done and stereotypical. Makes me wonder, how many accurate representations of ADHD is out there, not just "lol im hyperactive and quirky" but the actual struggles of having a brain that refuses to work half the hekn time. The only things ive seen is: - 1 episode of Adventure Time with Jake having ADHD - Surpranos (not the most interesting show but damn was it ahead of its time showing the accurate "ADHD isnt real, its just kids being kids" before i was born and fighting against it, i felt seen) - And maybe a Simpsons episode if i remember correct with Bart having it? ... im rambling sorry xD
