I have a Viking 10 since beginning of this season, and like it a lot, always felt secure with 42ft boat. It,s light, large, but effective. In weed I had to clear the anchor before giving it a second go, as with any type of anchor I've ever had.

Steve. What about making a hinged anchor extension for mud.

Thanks for your efforts. Great use of KZitem. Gonna kick in a few bucks, but would like other product or method videos for sailing. Otherwise, will probably move patreon sponsorship elsewhere. Keep up the good work grow your channel and take it on the road! We need more info and “how to” rather than “lifestyle” channels.

Many thanks for this video, I actually own this very anchor, still experimenting with it though but so far I have found it to be a very impressive anchor. Lots of cool and funky features. I do wonder though if any small anchor below 7 kg can ever perform like and as well as bigger anchors....

As I was researching bigger doesn't always mean better as it states on the viking anchor website , at present I have 21 ft proline boat , and im getting this same one #7 viking anchor..

Thanks Steve. I wondered how the new Vikings compared. That is a good looking alloy runabout. Your build?

Hi Ben, good to hear from you again. Have you been on any sailing adventures lately? Runabout was built by a small, local workboat builder.

@@flygoodwin Pretty quiet here. Did another trip south on the icebreaker, then lockdown... Looks like you have more work happening with Panope. Looking forwards to seeing what you are up too. Hopefully the patreon thing works out ok. Always looking forward to more anchor videos so I should sign up.

Steve, not sure if you are aware but this anchor can actually work as both convex and concave. Perhaps you could assemble it in its concave configuration and consider testing this anchor as a concave to see if there is any significant affect on setting and holding performance or mud accumulation, etc. Thoughts? :-)

Might give that a try. Thanks for the idea.

Ive noticed that in their promo pics. At first I wasnt sure if i hadn't mis-percieved the image. My question is why one would want to assemble the anchor in a convex configuration like a plow anchor instead of concave like a scoop anchor. Its worth testing, I supposed, but i have no idea why convex would work better.

@@oaklandmax it would reduce risk and volume of mud accumulation, which could aid in resetting ability.
