I sailed on that ship before RCCL took it into dry dock and added the cabins in the area where it used to transport vehicles when it was the Stardancer. Had a great time on it sailing down to Mexico from Los Angeles. Good memories.

I was on this ship in 94. Long Beach to Catalina to ensenada. Sad to watch my best childhood memory dismantled.

My father and I sailed on that ship in October 1997 when Royal Carribbean operated the ship and we sailed from Los Angeles to Mexico and back.

I did my first cruise on her when she was known as the Island Escape in 2010. I had a great time. Then 3 years later when I got married to my 2nd wife we had our honeymoon cruise on her. Very fond memories of that ship. OK she was a bit tired and need a good tidy up and re-paint (which she never got) but I/we had a great time. A real shame she ended up as scrap.

We spent our honeymoon on the Viking Serenade in 1992. It's sad to see her like this but I know, that was 30 years ago. Our marriage has a little rust on it too but still good on the inside. 😊

Damn…so sad to see these amazing ships end up their lives like this. With so much poverty and homeless, you would think governments and billionaires could afford to organize locations to dock or anchor these ships to accommodate families and train them over time to upkeep the ship. On certain days go ashore to help farm food….essentially the only cost needed would be some fuel and technical maintenance. I guess it’s just a pie in the sky dream….sad world!

Are you thinking like we fill the ship up, take it offshore, and sink it? That's not a bad idea
