Soprano Viktorija Miškūnaitė (b. 1983) is a rising star of the new generation of Lithuanian operatic singers. Having graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, she took part in the IV International Competition of Opera Singers «SAINT-PETERSBURG» in 2009 which opened the doors to the masterclasses with reputable artists such as Carmen Balthrop and Mauro Trombetta. In 2011-2012, she continued her vocal studies at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart. In December 31, 2012, Miškūnaitė debuted in the Lithuanian Opera with Rosalinde‘s role in ‘Die Fledermaus ’ by Strauss. Her current engagements with the Lithuanian Opera include Mimi in La Boheme, Elisabetta in Don Carlo, Giulietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi, and the title-role in Manon. Miškūnaitė is well recognised in her own country where she received several awards including the Lithuanian ’Opera Soloist of the Year‘ title in 2015 and the Golden Cross of the Stage in 2016.
