Lt Cdr Devdutt Sharma is posted at INA as a Divisional Officer. He is a keen ultra runner, yoga practitioner, triathlete, mountaineer and qualified ship diver.
He led the Indian Navy's maiden 1500 Km running expedition (35 Marathon in 35 days) in Delhi- Haryana- Chandigarh region to commemorate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The expedition was flagged off from National War Memorial, New Delhi on 30 Oct 22 and flagged in at Kota House on 03 Dec 22. The expedition was flagged off by VAdm DK Tripathij , COP and VAdm Suraj Berry, CPS and flagged in by Admiral R Hari Kumar, CNS and Olympian Ms PV Sindhu.
The Officer delivered more than 70 talks in schools and colleges after completion of the marathon everyday and interacted with naval veterans, Veer Naris and local athletes throughout the course of the expedition. After completion of 1500 Km run, he continued his marathon expedition at his place of duty and reached upto a mark of 82 consecutive full marathons. This feat was recognised in Guinness Book of World Records.
