I don't hear Reba and Vince from the future, I hear them from the past on country radio for 90's country on Sunday mornings from 8 to 10

When I read that after Glenn Frey's death, I thought back on Vince's performance on the "Common Thread" album saluting the Eagles. I wasn't too comfortable with Glenn being replaced, but Vince is tried and true and you can't deny his talent. I'm old enough to remember him being with Pure Prairie League, wearing a fur vest. Lol

I agree! I have been a Vince Gill fan for over thirty years now, and I turn 52 next month, so that's most of my life. He's also AMAZING in concert. I've had the privilege of seeing him twice. I absolutely love this man.

I loved watching "Evening Shade" as a teenager. It's based on a real town, and a lot like the town my mom's side of the family came from. And so many talented actors on it. Burt Reynolds, Marilu Henner, Michael Jeter, Ossie Davis, Charles Durning, Hal Holbrook. Ossie's real-life wife Ruby Dee even appeared as his character Ponder's wife I think at least once.

I remember where I saw this. It's from the tv show Evening Shade with Burt Reynolds and Michael Jeter. I remember seeing this episode as a kid.

Long before her own series. I'd like to think this pushed her to make the jump to TV.

@@stephaniem.8220"Evening Shade" ranks with the "Andy Griffith Show" and "In the Heat of the Night" with me. My mom is from Georgia, and all of these shows capture something of where she came from. RIP to both Burt and Michael, who entertained children as Mr. Noodle on "Sesame Street" for 3 years.

@@cneterer Her stage performances thru out the 90s and her extremely awesome video's was one of the main reasons why she wanted to act. She was already doing mini movies in her video's, so she gave acting a try and loved it. After several movies and show performances she went on to have the Reba show that we all love and still watch reruns of. She is simply the best at all she does. I love Reba with all my heart ❤

For me, it did. "Evening Shade" was a mellow feel-good series based on a real town, in the vein of "The Andy Griffith Show." Unfortunately, Burt Reynold's divorce derailed it all too soon. I don't think it gets enough credit for the talent that was on it.

So who was that character in the blue blouse that Vince was singing too while she kind of smuggled up to him? I assume the writers laid the groundwork for that earlier in the episode; this feels like the end of act three.

Gill and McEntire also made a guest appearance on the television series, Evening Shade. They played themselves, surprising the cast members with an intimate performance of their hit song.

Apparently it's "Evening Shade", at least according to the IMDb Burt Reynolds was in that show.

@@amanofmanyfaces5909 I actually wouldn't call that a terribly intimate performance - they weren't even singing to each other - as they were in the original music video for the song.
