We miss the great heart that Leonard Nimoy truly was.

I saw this on Alpha Repertory Television back in 1982. That was the nature of their programming in those days. Now they are the ARTS Channel and are different Amazing performance and play. I’ve watched it many times

I have the PRIVILEGE of attending the FIRST outside of L.A. performance by Nimoy of Vincent, in 1983 in Omaha, NE. He came to the state before the performance and in a whisper explained that he had little voice, and anyone who wanted their money back could get it. It was an "intimate" place in Omaha, the Witherspoon Auditorium, 450 people seating. NO ONE LEFT. So the show went on. He wisely had a 20 minute intermission, (which they had "wine and cheese" for us and coffee in the foyer) we came back, and at the end gave Leonard Nimoy a standing ovation.

This man never got enough credit for his acting skills. No one ever played a Vulcan like Nemoy. I doubt anyone ever will.

A wonderful show. Four years today we lost Mr. Nimoy, who like Vincent was a great lover of life itself.

Nimoy was a talented actor. He was intelligent, had a good vocal to narrate his speech! We missed him.

Outstanding performance. I saw his play sometime in either 1977 or 1978 Milwaukee, WI, at the Pabst Theater. Since over these many years, I have often thought about Leonard Nimoy's performance and wished that I could see it again on a video recording. Little did I know that it had been recorded. So today I accidently came across it on KZitem. What a shock; a surprise 45 years later. Thank you so much for posting this wonderful performance. Leonard's talents brought Vincent's story to life.

Assisti a esta representação fascinante na Tv e nunca mais esqueci. Durante anos que a procurei rever. Considero que, ao nível do teatro, esta representação genial está ao nível do Van Gogh.

What an incredible masterpiece. I never had a clue this existed. I have known this man as my hero on Star Trek for over 45 years. Never knew about this. To learn so much more about him after his passing, that is an enormous gift. Thanks.

@@williewilkerson6372 So true, I wish there was a film record of the play he did in the late 1980s where he played a Natzi. His bio documentary had a couple pics and mentioned the success, that the room went quiet. But I can't find a video of the show.

What it would take to memorize such a script. I was very touched and inspired by this presentation. I would love the challenge of performing this story on stage. I could feel the pain and anguish Vincent suffered during Nimoy's performance. A true MASTERPIECE!!! "And now I understand, what you tried to say to me; how you suffered for your sanity." God bless you and give you eternal rest and peace dear Vincent Van Gogh and Leonard Nimoy!!
