@@TrueLadyEvilChan They use a LOT of squash and stretch and smear frames in this game's animations, which gives it a way more lively feel than the pre-rendered graphics of DKC were able to (even if I love the visuals of DKC). Same sort of Weightiness that Looney Tunes and good anime has. DKCR/TF struck a good balance though imo. And I would love to see this game adapted to a normal controller less awkwardly than the original.

@@halcionjoy7 I played this game a *ton* as a kid and I can confirm, yes, it is amazing. The parts that he's clapping for you can also hit the sides of the bongos as well which is a little less awkward. I had an idea for a Metroid movie a while ago, but I don't know if I ever typed it out. I think it would be best to have the plot follow people lost on SR-388 during Samus' extermination of the metroids. They could have people die, but some of them have to make it out. The metroids should be a scary as possible, and they should avoid showing Samus as much as possible. Samus should not know that there are people lost on the planet with her, because that could derail the story and retroactively mess with the game's story. Show the aftermath of her fights with the different metroids. As she carves her way further in, maybe the protagonists would find what they need and make their way out.
@marcrandy6169

I personally don't trust a Metroid movie to be good unless we get a Peter Jackson type who's both talented and understands the core of the series. Best way to pull it off I think would be to have a new ordinary character who's tagging along with Samus. Kind of like Joey from that one manga. That way Samus can show her character through actions while Neo-Joey and by extension us experiences the insane shit Samus pulls off.
@halcionjoy7
Жыл бұрын
@@marcrandy6169 I only had my idea because Metroid is inspired by the Alien movies. If they're going to go full-circle and tackle a movie adaptation, they might as well go back to their roots. I think having a movie follow Samus would be cooler, but way harder to pull off. It would be very easy for them to mess up her character for easy female empowerment points.
@warbossgegguz679

A Metroid movie would just be Alien, because the plots of the entire first 4 Metroid games are inspired almost verbatim by the plots of the first 4 Alien movies. Just replace Space Truckers with a rule 63 Boba Fett and it's Metroid.

Outside of people finding Kiddy annoying (even though I don't really get it) and the brainlet logic of "Not the OG DKC team = BAD!" I have no idea why so many 90s kids hate DKC3. 23:47 Just a tip, if you're looking to play DKC 3 you may actually want to try out the GBA version purely because it has an entirely redone soundtrack by David Wise, since he was free when it was made in 2003 unlike when the original came out. The SNES OST isn't _bad_ per say, but it's VERY different. To this day I still don't get the hate for DKC 3. It may be "the weakest" of the 3, but it's still one of the best platformers of the 16 bit era. At the very least, it's better than DK64. Also, if you want to be a TRUE completionist you're neglecting the Donkey Kong Land games, all of which have color/DX versions now. And if you wanna get REALLY technical there's the DK Climbers games.
@SamLovesMovies25

@@SamLovesMovies25 The GBA remakes of DKC are literally made of black magic and duck tape, and I love them. @@warbossgegguz679 I grew up with the SNES versions of DKC 1&2, and once we no longer had our SNES, I got the GBA versions. Personally, I was VERY disappointed with them, because the graphics looked noticeably inferior and to my ears, the beautiful soundtracks were absolutely butchered and sounded horrendous (except DKC 3 of course). Though yeah I guess that is probably partially because I was used to the SNES versions
@warbossgegguz679
Жыл бұрын
@@SamLovesMovies25 I mean yes, they aren't "better" than the SNES versions. There's added QoL and little touches like cutscenes and such, but the fidelity is lower. Gameplaywise though they're about on par, which if you look into the development of them is the most miraculous part. Like I said, Rare had basically no way to port them other than completely rebuilding them from the ground up, so the fact they are as good as they are (especially compared to stuff like the Mario Advance series) is insane. Nowadays though with stuff like save-states and the like, I generally tell people to play the SNES versions of 1 & 2 but the GBA version of 3. But yeah, according to Tim Stamper himself, since the OG game was made on Silicon computers and they couldn't feasibly transfer it to a GBA cart. So the way they went about making the GBA ports was literally going through the OG games on emulators set to debug, taking screenshots of the level layout and gameplay footage, ripping what assets they could from those originals, and then basically rebuilding collision and physics around it. Effectively remaking the entire DKC trilogy from the ground up.
