You can learn so much from VM's work upon each listening....so versatile, melodic, crafty, inventive and fresh regardless the production style. A true composer, song-stylist and inspiring force to be reckoned with. Much respect and gratitude extended to this man. Thank you Premier Guitar for this.

This is the absolute truth. The other 2 being Rising Force ( almost all instrumental ) and Maximum Security. If we are talking about neoclasical shred...this is it. The Shred Trinity

I actually tabbed out his first 2 instructional videos 3 nps 3 string grouping Pattern of 9 is a great alternate picking exercise, The great thing about the first instructional was he plays a riff then plays it in all positions

A kick ass Dickey Betts album was "Let's all get Together" Best $3.50 i ever spent! No one even knows that album exists. Richard makes his knowledge of the Whole Half diminished Scale very apparent on song 6 or 7. Such a kick ass CD

I gotta say, I have played more strat copies than any other guitar. I had to like them to some extent but I have never bought one. I was always given or traded them. ..but honestly I like odd shaped guitars. I bought a Jackson Kelly, I was given a BC Rich Mocking Bird years ago. My first guitar was a copy of an Explorer with odd cut outs, yellow and black tiger stripe. lol ..but I didn't buy it either. lol

The two albums he mentioned, VH 1 and Machine Head. It's no coincidence he named exactly those two. Those that know, KNOW. There's 3 Bibles when it comes to mastering guitar. VH1, Machine Head and Petrucci's video Rock Discipline. You learn all 3 and slave and bust your ass over them and you too will be getting the pick of the litter when it comes to single mothers on the weekends. Be wise though, leave them at the club...for your own good. The No Bullshit/Tell It Like It Is Philosopher has spoken!
