A prime Honeyghan would have beaten Vinny Pazienza. However, by this stage in his career he was a shot fighter after having taken beatings from Marlon Starling and Mark Breland. In addition Pazienza was a lot stronger because he was a big middleweight. Honeyghan was having to build himself up to reach the middleweight limit, as his normal fighting weight was Super welterweight.

Larry Hazard was the real winner in this fight. For real though, Lloyd was a shot fighter here

One of Pazienza's best performances that showed why he was always one of boxing's most exciting champions!!!

Pazienza's style reminds me slightly of Roberto Duran, and, although finished at world level, Lloyd Honeyghan gives a decent impression of an aging Sugar Ray Leonard. I think Lloyd dropped down to junior middleweight and picked up the Commonwealth title at that weight. Of course, Lloyd's place in boxing history was firmly cemented when he beat the seemingly unbeatable Don Curry in September 1986. Good scrap - thanks for uploading.

I'm a Brit, but I always liked and admired Pazienza - gave 100% every fight. Honeyghan was a good fighter in his prime, but lost to the better man in this fight.

Honeyghan was a shell of the fighter he once was, otherwise it could have been competitive.
