I found out that the game Candyland is VERY CONTROVERSIAL. I was the "official" spinner, while my aunt and her grand-daughter were players. I was also the "official" rule maker. My word was LAW. The game does not have an official start location. Monopoly has a start space, along with many other board games. Candyland isn't like that. I had to make a ruling that the playing pieces had to start in an open area, just before the first space. The players wanted the first space as the starting point. My way would result in a player being on the 5th square if they rolled a 5. The PLAYERS wanted to be on the 6th space, assuming they rolled a 5.
A minor event to an adult, but I made a little girl cry, and to top it off, she is my First cousin once-removed. I AM SUCH A MEANIE. As an adult, she rarely has more than 2 words to say to me. Could it be the Candyland game - I DON'T KNOW, IT COULD BE!!!
