Action Man Space Speeder can be deployed in multiple configurations - limited only by your imagination! When I was young, imagination easily amounted to 70% of play. The figures and accessories helped the narrative. Great job, Dave. Another classic toy saved from landfill!

The versatility of this toy is a testament to one of the many differences between toy design when we were young and what we get today. Back then, they were obviously focused on creating a toy with real play value first in the design process while still be economical, not solely on how cheaply they can make it and still sell at a premium price to man-baby toy collectors to boost their profit margins like they do today. I feel taken advantage of more often than naught. Like with many of your recent modern toy reviews, you shouldn’t have to repair/repaint them straight out of the packaging. Sorry to ramble. Thank you for the awesome repair of another vintage gem.🙏

Anyone else think that an action man space ranger halloween costume would be awesome and easy to make? EDIT: action man sits in the space speeder like a vintage motu figure sits in the roton vehicle DOUBLE EDIT: Your video are the best toy restoration videos on youtube and thanks to you I was able to fix both my reproduction G.i. joe action marine and my g1 soundwave's door. Btw on a unrelated note: if you ever think that this current generation doesn't appreciate these vintage toys... I'm 17 years old and I LOVE vintage motu, 60's and 70's g.i. joe, mego worlds greatest superheroes (of which I own an original batman AND robin), and vintage transformers! And if you made it this far then thanks for reading my essay of a comment! You're great and I hope you have a great day!

I got this and the Space Ranger Action Man for Christmas when I was either 9 or 10 and it still rates as my greatest ever present- I was so pumped. Still have the vehicle and it’s all intact, alas the Space Ranger never made it although I still have most of his accessories. What lovely memories of a fantasy toy.

I love seeing toys that I never had as a kid! I also enjoy it when you fabricate things to complete a repair/restoration. Unlike some toy collectors, I enjoy seeing customizing done to original toys from time to time, so one of these days, I'd really love to see you do a few videos where you're not so much repairing a vintage toy vehicle, etc--but you're also aiming to enhance it in some way. Maybe improving on the structor of the toy to overcome a weak spot in the design, or maybe just adding some pieces that probably should have come with the toy in the first place! Something like that. I think that would a nice change of pace, and something that could be done as a kind of treat for viewers. A way to celebrate getting new subscribers, or something like that. It's nice to see you do paint repairs and things to toys as well. Even though you have done those kind of videos before, each figure and toy differs, and has it's own set of unique problems, so I love seeing that kind of thing too! Please keep up the amazing work that you do with these videos! I really appreciate the time and effort that you take to provide us with great content and constant entertainment! You have rekindled childhood enjoyment of toys in so many fans (myself included), and you should be quite proud of what you have accomplished with this channel. All the best, my friend! All the best!

Man this brings back a lot of memories. Up to now, every video you've done I still have that toy in relatively ok condition, but this one is completely gone. I have the figure (decapitated), one glove, and used to have the white cannon (it was handy to use as a toy laser gun) although even that may be gone now.

3:04 Want to get plastic weld into a place that looks damn hard? Glass syringe, and a metal needle. Blunt the tip to keep horrible accidents down to a minimum. I use old diabetes syringes I don't need any more (long story. The doctors here are horrible). A plastic one may seize up from the plastic weld itself. Why yes. I am bursting with ideas this morning.

Toy executive: "We need a new vehicle for our action figure line!" Toy designer: "Well, I have a few ideas. I've been sketching some ideas for a motorcycle, but I've also had a few ideas for a boat. Although, kids these days are really into jets and spaceships." Exec: "That sounds good." Designer: "Which one? Motorcycle? Boat? Spaceship? Jet?" Exec: "Yes." Designer: "That doesn't make any sense!" Exec: "I sign your paychecks." Designer: "Cycleboatspacejet coming up, sir!"

I have some silicon rubber Phicen/ TBLeague figures. I found giving them a dose of mineral oil (the stuff you find in the medical aisle of a pound shop), and then talcum powdering them wholesale helps keep things smooth and crack free. I'm not sure what kind of rubber that is, but it looks like the same stuff as that newer suit you showed off some time back. Since these things do lose their oils they were made with, I think restoring them does help. I'd make sure, and use a ratty old one to test first. Make sure it doesn't dissolve into a blob, or mutate or something awful. Like anything, a little dab will do ya. rub it in till it's tackier than Weird Al, then powder it to death. The shake N bake method works. Stick it in a ziplock bag, put on some music, and shake your action man's spacesuit booty. :D

Thanks to your brilliant tool page on your site, I now have a cutting board, long tweezers and plastic weld. Bit concerned that the bottle of plastic weld said "suspected of causing cancer," so is there any special precautions we should take when using it? I notice you dont use gloves. Is it ok just to rinse the brush in the tap water to clean it?
@toypolloi
3 жыл бұрын
I don't take any precautions with it apart from washing my hands at the end. You won't be able to wash the brush out, it goes solid very quickly. But then softens again when you put it back in the plastic weld. Cheers
