Criticism of the 2CV is like criticism of France itself. When you delve into the subject more deeply you find there is more positive than negative.

such a nice "ugly duckling", cars of today should reinterpret the minimalist concept of the 2CV, this is lived sustainability!!! (cars with complicated electronics that you cannot repair yourself are the wrong approach) I would love to have one and use it as a "jeep", and still better would be to have a "camionnette" with the typical corrugated iron body! And the legendary H1 is also one of my favorites, as a vintage catering truck it has NO rival!

La Belle Voiture....La Belle France! I love France and all the excellent things about the country, their beautiful cars (especially the Citroen DS 19, the 2CV, the Peugeot 309, the Renault Alpine and the new Alpine A110), their countryside, their customs, their lovely language, their food, their wine, their sense of style and their absolute clarity on their rights....

I had one of the last 2cv6 of the production line, lovely car. Helas, we can't have everything so I chose to keep the Dyane my mom had bought new in 1980, which I still drive almost daily.

i remember seeing the old cartoon roadsters that everyone from Mickey Mouse to Noddy to Roger Rabbit used to drive....you know that classic toontown 1930s-esque mini roadster. i did a lot of research and realize yes there was several cars that resemble the good old Toontown/Noddy car! including this one of course, the American Bantam from the late 30s and 40s,the Fiat 500 Topolino, and the Fiat siata spring, Also army cars like the Kurogane Type 95 also resemble "Noddy" cars. So there is quite a few! O.O im sure if i look harder there may be even more!

I have fond memories of the 2CV aka deudeuche as we call it at home. I was 11 years old and living in Africa. During a summer camp in the bush run by our school headmaster and 3 nuns, I had a bad fall resulting in both my shoulder and elbow being dislocated. We were about 230km away from the next hospital. Thank God the headmaster opted to take me to hospital in the Nuns’ 2CV instead of the camp Land Rover. I was made as comfortable as possible at the back of the car with my legs on Sister Thérèse's lap and it took us nearly 5 hours driving on a bush track full of potholes all the way (and without pain killers). I have memory of not suffering too much. Finally, we arrived past Midnight at the hospital where I was taken care of, and that … was painful. I just fainted.

(Cont) but id say my favorite type or style of car is the old Noddy/Toontown roadster both cartoon and in real life :P they are adorable and remind me of a cartoon or childhood. i guess the modern version of the Noddy car i noticed is the Mini Cooper and a modern Fiat. Heck even Noddy and both Mickey's cars now been replaced by Mini Cooper look-alikes in their newest shows. lol

ygg drasil There are quite a fex ev conversions. In fact the 2CV makes a wonderfull electric car because it has no power steering, no electric windows, it's lightweight and is not a long range car anyway.

@@srfrg9707 Not a long range car? How ironic that many people buy them today specifically as adventure cars and drive them across whole continents. I love watching 2CV adventure videos on KZitem. I wan't to own one myself someday.

KlingonCaptain i was not talking about the range capabilities of 2CVs but about their design and level of comfort. Aventures in 2CV are not a new thing what so ever. The french advertiser Seguela bacame famous when he did a travel around the world in a 2CV back in the 70s. But by design te 2CV is a rural car desingned to let the french farmer of the 40s travel to the next town to sell his products on bad french countryside roads of the time. It's not a car for highways (I know this first hand. Whith a buch of friends we killed a Diane's engine on the highway trying to cope with the trafic) or a touring car what so ever.
