I have a yellow V24, double Wilkinson Humbuckers, Wilkinson bridge [Made by GOTOH] and looks like an 80's Charvel more than a strat. Maple 24 fret neck and sounds great, floated the standard trem' and stays in tune great. Graham Oliver [Oliver/Dawson Saxon] uses VINTAGE guitars and i have the same as him and he also has a SG Sig model. Great guitars.

First one I’ve ever had a proper shot of - I was speaking to a chap that plays bass for a UK band called the Quireboys a couple of years back and he said that the guitarist used a couple of them. Given that they are a proper touring band, I guessed that they would have to be decent guitars. I’m not sure if they upgraded them, mind you. Vintage is really easy to get here in the UK, so there’s plenty of choice and no import for us. Not sure if they have a US distributor tho. Most definitely worth trying if you ever see one.

Ha! Your a funny guy Dunsy mate! Three Cheers for HB ! Some people say the HB necks are a bit thin, witch neck feels the best? Been waiting since the 1st HB still processing the order. WTH! This one sounds better than the HB, maybe it’s because I had a pint or snappier riffs!
@DunsysGuitarWorld
2 жыл бұрын
These 2 necks are so close in profile I honestly can’t tell any difference. The HB has a volute, but the Vintage doesn’t - the headstock angle looks the same tho. They both feel good, certainly bigger than the HB double cut I had, which had a thinner Gibson 60’s type profile. I was thinking about doing exactly the same music in all 4 videos I’m doing, but I thought that might be a bit boring to watch, so I’m just making stuff up the week before I film each video and trying to get as many sounds as I can on each - there’s no rhyme or reason to what is in each one. For the final video (which, now I think about it, will be the 5th one), where I’ll take all the guitars to a rehearsal room, at the same time, and play the same thing on each through Marshall, Fender and Vox amps. I guess that will be the best one to gauge all the sounds. I think, so far, the Wilkinson P90 seems to have a bit more clarity. But that’s a £166 guitar against a £300 guitar. I’ll make sure that everything is equal tho, as this is really just about letting people hear what sounds you can get from different price brackets and manufacturers.

Nice demo Mr Dunsy, so much so that I rescued my one from its dark dungeon and lathered the neck in lemon oil in preparation for a restringing (8 to 38s ) in the morning. I'm getting on a wee bit now so 8s are a bit easier on the old mitts. Great channel BTW and I like your quiet Scottish humour. Greetings from a fellow Scot living in darkest Kent.

Another great video, love your editing, to include wee humorous cat antics and quite frankly any other nonsense. But the guitar is not nonsense, in fact it sounds and looks awesomeness. Wee shame no intonation adjustments on the bridge, but that’s how they were back in the day. Besides who on earth ventures past the 12th fret when there are cowboy chords to play instead? For me it’s a better guitar than the Harley Benton silver sparkle as the price reflects. That being said once you change the pickup on the Harley Benton all bets are off as to which one is the best....or preferred I should say as they are 2 cracking guitars. Most excellent tunes as per usual. Fabulous guitar playing even if you didn’t include the metal solo.
