I'm a truck driver. And though I Love my truck...I love these old cabovers more. Wish they'd make a comeback

I wonder what killed them off in the first place.

@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs Actually you and me both. I remember also. This is kind of a cheesy memory but used to love the old TV show BJ and the Bear just for the Kenworth K100 Cabover truck!

What a cool rig ! I knew a guy that restored those older rigs and dump trucks , he did great work ; he also stuffed a 327 in a S-10 pick up He also liked those hit and miss motors I heard running in the background.

I remember seeing these types of trucks on tbe highway, rolling around in the back of the station wagon when I was a kid. Tbe drivers always blew their horns and everyone seemed to be about getting where they needed to go safely. Okay, showing my age...lol. That old girl is lovingly cared for. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome find, Erik. Just retired from 45yrs on the road. These trucks are indeed very rare. Would see one or two a month rolling down the road, depending on my locale. Yes, probably an old Detriot in the dog house. Not much horse power back then, but they had long legs. My uncle had an early 70's KW cabover. Learned to drive it when I was 14yrs. old. The standing joke about cabovers...you were the first on the scene of an accident!! Ah. Rocking chair memories. Thanks, Eric. Smilin', I'm off the key. Click, Click. 😑🦗

I watch KZitem videos often of these things being restored and put to use . I love them !! I’m just guessing but I’m going to say that’s probably about a 1971-72 model or close to it . I would love to have one . As long as you’re not pulling a trailer , and it’s privately owned “Not For Hire” , and it’s not being used in commerce (to make money) ,, no CDL required One of my bucket list dreams is to have one of these and the wife and I take 2 weeks and vacation in it
