Watching Jules always triggers several minutes of me thinking that I had one of those and what the heck did I do with it.

Love seeing the UK editions.....thank you for the putting it together. I kept all my Spy Vs. Spy, Aragones, and Don Martin ones....and I still have my collection of the magazines too. Should have collected more Marvel comics, as they proved to be better investment...but hey, I always liked Mad a LOT more....

@@JulesBurt I agree...I have several. I met him at a comic book show once - really a nice, and classy gentleman! One of the most interesting books I EVER read was "The Mad World of William M. Gaines" (or something like that) ..absolutely fascinating. Gaines really was a genius.

Ah yes, the Gaines book is superb, he was well ahead of his time. I have never met Sergio but I do have a great sketch by him, of Groo. 🙂👍

Love this... I had so many MAD paperbacks, started by Buying, Burning MAD in a street market in Teignmouth in Devon, back in 1984...

Probably went to that one myself in the 80's. These are still around of course but easier to find online.

Nice Collection. I have some original art for a few paperbacks. A chapter of a Jaffee invention book, the first page of Sergio's first book and a prelim cover by Dave Berg.

The early Mad paperbacks had astonishing illustrators, never equalled, viz. : peerless Basil Wolverton, amazing Bill Elder, fantastic Walt Wood and superb Jack Davis....these guys are lost in time, more's the pity...but not to me. The 6 books I have are from the mid-Fifties, i.e. Son of Mad, The Bedside Mad, Mad Strikes back!, Utterly Mad, Inside Mad and the Mad Reader...all illustrated by the above...a must-have collection!
