I was thinking the same, or just spring load the top of the locking mechanism with a nylon tip so it still allows it to open and close easily...but then again the turret top comes off easily, why bother?? Lock the puppy closed and just arm and disarm when loading and using the firing mechanism.

Thanks guys, The problem with the lid idea is that removal of the lid increases the risk of damage to the paint finish, due to the overhanging smoke grenades. Realistically the lid should only be removed for loading / unloading of the blank system or for getting into the hull for some reason. which is kept to a minimum. The spring is a good idea the only issue is that the real tank didn't have the spring system and getting the spring to work with the interior detailing is difficult and would require more modding to the interior detail plug or hatch hinge. The epoxy in the hinge works well, and is an easy solution to the problem

@@raiben4437 Yeah. I heard about the mud packing issues, the drive train is overly complex I mean the ride quality for an early tank, on road was supposedly phenomenal, but it was at least double the expense of a simple skeleton dual leaf spring bogey wheels and only added moderate protection to the crew due to the layered leafing. The Germans made vehicle parts of too high quality and too high tolerances for the use they went through from the quality of the piston rings and flywheels magnesium steel alloys instead of cast iron. Tanks in a war like that will NEVER last 20 years They will be destroyed or knocked out before then so survivability should have been taken into account when producing vehicles that require such a vast amount of expensive resources. The type of your futaba dont have a Neutral position fail safe only throtle fail safe ,not sure if you are using Y-lead to connect more than one channel to your throtle or a board but the reason it goes full trotle one side is that it cant recognise it as throtle but as a different fuction ,i bet if you go the other way arround the other side will spin !

Yes to you technically can, some people have machined the whole breech of the 88mm out of steel. I don't have this expertise or tooling to do this type of construction. Another way that is more practical is to mod an AR15 upper / lower so it's single shot and fires with a lanyard

First I always go to you to get a correct document of tigers on my builds of model's, but had a question do you do panzer IV vs scale of any of the medal beautiful work you do because I'm just starting on 1/16 And I would like to go bigger and in depth scale and a panzer IV is what I would like to try, I restore vintage cars so I do have medal and lead work 25 plus hrs so what tank do you think I should try out form or from east coast armor or armor teck hung long 1/4, 1/6, 1/8 ectI I like armor text but dose you're company east coast armor do kits, also i would like to put a real engine in it cause I've have experience scale war birds and a friend and I put a 609 Conley engine production version in a quarter scale boat almost 9.5 up tranny was a chore but nothing sounds so real like the true thing,, but to be true is there a v12 conversation kit you know of or have done one you're self on a tiger ect. And keep up all the beautiful work you do and can't wait till the next review. Thanks so much for all you do and passion in such a great hobby and and the love of armor in it's truest form. What I'm am looking to do is a scale 8.8 flack 18,37,up to 41s or better a twin 12.8flack 40?? Firing blanks lol need to do more info Cause I would like to make a 8.8mm Flak 36 Aug Pz Kpfw IV Aug H, version thanks for all you do.(Or a m4 with a Sherman with a radial engine) ?? Thanks, but I think you have me mistaken. this model here and the other metal RC tanks that are on my channel are built from kits. These tank are not scratch built and are from the company Armortek. Because of this I can't answer your question on which tank to scratch build in metal. As for a real engine I'm not a fan of this as the real engine hurts the look of the model as they are dirty and not as reliable as Electric. As far as I know there is no scale Maybach V12 engine in 1/6 that runs on gas that I'm aware of.

@@mephisto7549 I diss agree about the scale speed being too quick. I've studied many footage of the tiger I driving in both old wartime footage and the bovington tank running. The way you see it in the test run is very similar to the speed seen in these videos. Can the model move slower then the way it is going in the test, yes, however for testing the tank does need to be put through its paces which does require the tank running at full speed on off and on road terrain. However to imply that the model at full throttle is moving faster than the real vehicle moving at full throttle in high gear is simply incorrect
