I like the fact you do not have all these fancy machines to do all of this work but yet yours turns out better then theirs.

To slide the rubber tube over the metal tube, use compressed air as if fitting a new rubber motorcycle hand grip. Great restoration.

You are helping to keep the memories of my youth to the front of my brain . Pumps of this type were common growing up after ww2 . The one my dad owned had 2 foot stands , more like a bicycle pump . With the popularity of vinyl lined aboveground swimming pools in the 1950's the pump of course became a pool toy that we managed to destroy in a few summers time. Kids don't preserve things for the future unfortunately. Stay healthy brother , one day we will all be able to congregate closer than 6' again .

I've just restored a genuine George VI October 1940 stamped pump in worse condition than yours but painted it the original black. I used greased string for the seal again as the original had. I do need some of that 22mm core rubber hose for my other pumps.

The strap is to secure the pumps hose, which originally was a lot longer. Long enough in fact to go all the way up the chimney of a house as these pumps, would you believe, are still carried on front line Fire Trucks in the UK!

Another good restoration. This is still a useful practical tool around the garden. Brass tools are always interesting. Judging by the brass back it looks like you used a Tyzack tenon saw , more commonly called a back saw, in the US. I have owned one for about 35 years. Best regards from the USA.

Thank you. It’s actually a footprint saw. I do have a few tyzack saws though. I will be using this in the garden.

Superb restoration, lots of people would have looked at that and thought it’s not worth the effort, but I love these old simple pieces of engineering so well done you for rescuing it. It’s funny how it’s modern counterpart will never last as long as this one. Out of interest was it still working before the restoration?
