I ate a bunch of C Rats when i was in the jungles of Vietnam in 1968-69. Apricots came in slices in syrup, very tasty. Them napkins are Toilet Paper. The chocolate was great. Anything with meat in it was good. Sometimes we would make a stew out of different C Rats mixed up and cook them in a helmet. Yum Yum 👍 Meals you didn't like you could always trade with your buddies.

I had K-rats in the military. Wasn't that good. Seems like I always got a can of poundcake. It was disgusting. All K-rats had cigarettes. Different brands. Best thing in the box. You should have kept the matches and cigarettes unopened as collector items. The paper was toilet paper. Second best thing in the box.

IF I remember correctly the P38 can openers were packaged seperately they came in the cases of the C rations most of us back then had a few of them, one on our dog tag chain maybe another on a key ring. Many of us had a Swiss Army type knife that had a can opener on it. I was in the Air Force and we still had a few around in 1985, but by then the MRE were being issued. In the Air Force we only ate during Exercises or Deployments.

Those apricots look decomposed. They were probably originally halves. The matches were for lighting a campfire and the cigarettes. The cigarettes were put there mainly to promote the brand. Those probably date from the '50's or '60's after "Marlborough" switched from being a women's brand to a men's popular brand.
