Awesome video!! Finally someone who doesn’t fall to the funk trap and just show GOOD MUSIC!! Absolutely loved your selections!!

Thanks Keith. I think Funk is attractive to people who like Rock as it shares some of the same qualities (guitar solos, drum solos) and then people get trapped into just equating soul with funk...when in fact there’s so much more out there, I guess a lot of what I showed is soul/pop. You make a good observation!

Ohio Players was every teenage boys favorite band for cover design. Honey is great. Lover Rollercoaster was huge in the US, such a funky song. Parliament is a favorite group. Also KC and Sunshine Band was huge when I was in college. If you haven’t, check out Betty Davis, down dirty gritty funk. Love funk and soul, so darn good. Steve

28 days (of Hot Pants) later ...and survived the trip?! hahah. Joking aside, James Brown is great obviously. I don't own anything by him but whenever you hear a song from him it's time to groove that's for sure. Sweet Parliament poster. My knowledge about Funk is very limited so thanks for this. Will check some of those records out. That Prince I know and it's a good one! Barry White, I only know him from those overly smoochy ballads (and that one Simpsons episode) and didn't know he'd done 'proper' funk some point. Just shows how less I am schooled in the funk genre. Cheers Harris
