I just installed Arlo throughout a 1200 sq foot home. It took five days for me (a 74 year old, construction savvy woman). I used a sliding compound miter saw with a carbon tipped (Freud) blade, a table saw, a jig saw and a Multimax for moldings. Jig saw blades (the ones meant for wood or metal) wore out with two or three cuts due to the ceramic component of the flooring. (Try using the ones made for laminate or buy jig saw blades in BULK!) The Freud blade lasted the entire project. I didn't use a pull bar but it would have been handy in a few places. A pry bar against the wall could snap most end pieces. Molding covered any minor dings that method produced. Anyway -- we have gotten compliments galore on how beautiful it is. Arlo has warm brown and grey tones (neutral but not drab) that I emphasized by painting the main rooms sort of latte/mocha. It also goes well with beach colors -- bedrooms and bathrooms are a light aquamarine Be sure to order that 8 to 10% extra they recommend. Yes - it costs a bit more but you will avoid having to delay installation when you find a damaged plank (unless you can put where furniture will cover it). My order had no damaged planks but it might be wise to open all the boxes, inspect each piece, and stack them in the final area you will be working.

i'v put down 4 different vinyl flooring products. floortet was by far the easiest. there is a U tube vid on how to do it. the instructions wernt clear. the product is better than any big box store product i'v used or seen. shipping was cut to $100 bucks so really not too bad and it still beat comparable products by $1.25/ ft. i'v recommended them and will use them on a remodel this summer

Glad we came across the video. We are currently looking at the same flooring. For sure on the fence, even before watching this. For the cost and what they claim, it is supposed to be extremely high end, but from what I can see, the vinyl that we recently installed in a rental for 1/2 the cost is as good or maybe even better. 2 questions: The pattern repeat in the floor doesn't seem to offer a lot of variance. In your video it seems like a lot of planks are duplicates that are very close to one another. Do you think that's the case or maybe it was because it was your first time installing and maybe didn't catch that part? Second question, overall do you think it was worth the purchase as far as quality? I would be pretty unhappy to see the discoloration happening right after install and then being told it was a bad batch as to me that screams of quality control issues.
@FastingFoodie
4 жыл бұрын
I think the patterns are semi problematic, but really only noticeable to someone looking for it (I have never noticed it behind when I was critically looking at it right after installation) basically because we have such an open space that with only a handful of patterns if we looked in any direction we would have one close to what we were laying down. I am sure a couple boards could have been placed better in hindsight but there aren’t a ton of different patterns in the board. I am very happy with our floret over the last year and a half I like it a lot I am very pleased especially as an upgrade from carpet. I think it is super durable and easy to clean. We were pretty disappointed with some of the defects that we experienced but they have not continued to get worse. My husband’s POV is he wishes we would have just spent extra money for actual wood. He just thinks the quality increase from this too wood would have been worth it. although with that being said there has been more than one time that we’ve been super grateful for the water proof of this flooring.
@bradgrandorff1058
4 жыл бұрын
@@FastingFoodie Yea I did take that into account after I asked this question. You had mentioned the one board was bad / scraped and that for sure would have been on the installer not so much the company so I think when reflecting on everything you had posted it's a bit of both right, quality and a bad batch, plus being a bit new to the construction side (I assume). Anyways, thanks for the response. I called the company last night and aired some more of my concerns about the relative newness of the company for example. A lifetime warranty is the lifetime of a company, not the product. Anyways, I had a few more concerns but in the end I did order numerous samples and a full plank as other videos I watched the purchasers were extremely happy overall. Thanks again.

@@bradgrandorff1058 What did you decide ultimately? I feel like I'm getting a degree in LVP / EVP ... My problem with this offering is that it's too wide and long for my type of home. I don't have an open floor plan but I want the run the same flooring throughout the downstairs. They have a smaller plank, but they take off half of the good specs like the wear layer is 20 mil instead of 40 mil., etc.
@bradgrandorff1058
4 жыл бұрын
@@JanetJenkins So there is nothing like this floor that we have found in regards to size, and for us, we have a large single story, so for sure we want something like this, and are going to go with the flooret flooring. After that though, if that really isn't your thing, I would just go with any decent brand like shaw etc say from home depot, lowes, or a local flooring company. The 40 mil vs 20 mil can be argued many ways. That's the wear layer. And yes, for commercial settings and so on, will make a difference. BUt it doesn't change the fact if you get a scratch. A scratch on 20 mil will look the same as a scratch on 40 mil. Anyways, I think the flooring they sell off the shelf is very adequate, we have it installed in a rental we have, but if you want this grand look, the floorets are pretty awesome.

@@bradgrandorff1058 I thought that a 40 mil would be less likely to get a scratch than a 20 mil. What then does the wear level protect? Also, I have 650 sq ft of a 1-bedroom apt to fill. I just received just over 800 feet of Modin Signature, Nakan. I was excited to get it and immediately opened a box to check it out. I couldn't be more disappointed, the chamfers/angled edges on all planks have lines at the surface of the planks that look like melted plastic. I thought for sure that this is a manufacturing defect so I immediately called Flooret to have the order replaced. I sent them several close up pictures of the problem and they said that that is a feature, enhanced edges? What a bunch of crap! I have now left the flooring stored and am disputing the charge with my bank. Fraud. Over $4000 for a pile of crap and a company that probably thinks i will just use the flooring anyway because shipping it back is such a pain and expensive. Flooret , take it off your short list, you deserve better.

I'm curious, now that it's been in just shy of a year (If I calculated correctly) - how is the wear and tear? I noticed in the comments you do not have big dogs, but have your kids managed to scratch/ding it? Also, how long did it take your husband to complete the 800sq.ft? We are wanting to get rid of our carpet due to allergy issues and the 40mil coating of this brand is very appealing. Thanks!

Not quite a year, we started install in early Oct. so ALMOST! I am about to do an updated review. However, to answer your question.... we do not have any scratch issues with this flooring! It is SO easy to clean... but beware you may be surprised how much hair and crap used to sit in/on the carpet. I feel amazed how often my floors need cleaning (which is scary to think how dirty my carpet must have been).... it took a solid 2 months to install because he did it in fringe hours, had to uninstall previous floor and prep the subfloor. He is a perfectionist and really takes his time.

Hi. A question. I ordered in three cut samples, not the full planks, but they don't have much of the more golden contrast, but more shaded to brown/grey. But I noticed your kitchen cabinets look a bit like mine. How do you feel about the flooring overall picking up the look of you existing kitchen woodwork? My concern is with putting it in and it then looking like I was trying to match on the color but missed. And then having to live with it. Thanks.

Hey Sissy, I seriously doubt your friend has Flooret Modin Rigid LVP. Get the name of the manufacturer, than come back. The grooves as you call the are sealed tight, it would be pretty tough to get stuff stuck in them. As far as the indentations, that might be possible, but I seriously doubt it, as the Flooret Modin Signature has a PSI rating of 781 psi. If that were the case, I wouldn’t be concerned with a fridge, washer and dryer making indentations, as they are not going to be noticeable. As with any flooring we always use plastic, nail on felt pads under our chair feet, tables, hutch, etc. Using those pads are great, as you have added protection against potential scratching and you can move the furniture easily if and when you need to.

I cannot recommend this company. We had their flooring professionally installed (floating) in our kids' playroom about 3 years ago - nearly 1000 square feet of product. I reached out to Flooret a couple of weeks ago because we had planks separating at the sides. Flooret's initial response was to suggest that I glue down the separating planks. When I pushed back on that, they offered to send an inspector. The inspector's report states that the gaps were caused by an installation problem because the tolerance for level on this flooring is only 12/64" difference in a 10 foot span. The inspector managed to locate FIVE instances of areas exceeding this standard (none of them by more than 4/64" or 1/16") - OVER NEARLY 1000 SQUARE FEET. So, Flooret now recommends that we "simply apply a wood filler in the gaps that is in a matching color." That's not an acceptable fix. If the flooring is moving because the interlocking installation system is defective, there's no way filler won't simply "pop out." Really disappointing and a very expensive mistake to choose Flooret. So much for a lifetime residential warranty.

6:20 Why would you discard an entire plank because of some little ding? Its flooring! Its going to get dings and character. Go into any older home with nice real wood floors, and they are dinged and scratched to hell and back, and it looks amazing. If it bothered you so much, just use that as an end plank where you cut off the "bad" part.
