Excellent reaction! Violet was pregnant by her boyfriend who went to prison for ultimately killing her. Thus, the twins went into the system. Her father abused her (but beating her was not his focus). Jenny mirrored her mother’s silence while Screech mirrored his father’s violence. So many different interpretations (great art always has that), but after reading many summaries, I’m convinced those conclusions are correct. Some say Jenny was a prostitute. Not sure about that, although it makes sense. REN captures generational trauma so well. An accurate portrayal of underprivileged lives. A tragedy of Shakespearean proportions.

Ren tells the stories and the filming of the stories are all done so well i found myself looking for the bodies laying on the ground. The saddest thing about this is the fact each of these things are happening in every country at this very moment and the cycle continues

Yes dude these stories are so well crafted and tackle major problems in different countries. Mugging that lead to death a kid abused and not shown any love from his father after watching the Instagram stories about screech. And then finally the sexual and physical abuse that lead to violet being such a quite person probably the saddest of all three on my opinion she couldn't escape her father and her bf was a prick just like her father so she never really stood a chance. It's quite the complex and sad story after a few listens absolutely loved that it brings out such strong emotion in people a sign of true art for sure.

A genuine first time reaction much appreciated. Its a lot to take in on your first reaction. Think other commentators on here have explained it well. I have listened to it loads and always hear something new i hadnt noticed before. This reaction led me to notice the guitar more while he was playing mouth trumpet. I find it amazing that up until his latest Money Game 3 that all his videos were under £1300. He is so resourceful as an independent artist. The house he has recorded this in i have seen in a few of his videos i believe its in Brighton. Sam his videographer is also pretty amazing. A Happy New Year from me in the UK 🎶🧡🔥👩🏻🦰

One thing to remember with Ren is that he's a poet and a bloody good poet at that. He's frequently not literal. You'll hear a lot of poetic imagery, metaphor, simile and synonyms. Most of his lines will have 2 or 3 layers of meaning.. More than that, the song/story as a whole, will have several layers of meta meaning. Loosely related... Ren uses poetic licence with regards to the police shooting Screech. It's more dramatic and makes a better story but wouldn't happen in real-life. Uniformed officers in the UK don't carry firearms, unless they're in a highly trained firearms unit. Even most plainclothes officers don't carry firearms and less than 5% of all police officers even have a firearms licence. If that sounds weird, just remember that hardly any criminals carry guns either. A startling statistic that illustrates this, is that, on average, US police kill more people in a moth, than British police kill in 25 years! De-escalation is the primary tool and is at the core of police traing. If that fails or isn't an option, then restraing the person physically would be the next option, In dangerous situations a baton may be used and some officers carry tasers. Though that requires specialist training and a licence. Apologies for getting WAY off topic there, lol. The point is than Ren employs poetic and dramatic licence, as in reality this wouldn't have happened. It's a perfectly valid and highly effective use of such licence. Ren read a brief, short paragraph news article, which said how a 14 year old boy had been arrested for the murder of a young woman, in a knife attack. Apart from the time and the place, that was pretty much the full extent of the story. It made Ren angry and sad and made him wonder what would make a 14 year old boy do that and Ren's imagination and talent did the rest. Though even the scant details in the news story were changed. The young woman was just that, a young woman. She definitely wasn't 14. Nor was she a prostitute, like Jenny. Also, the boy was arrested, rather than shot. :)

oh wow uk police don't carry guns unless trained in a special unit that's interesting! they give every cop a gun over here so i can definitely see something like what happened to screech happening here and im starting to find out how much of a poet he really is especially after listening to the tales a few times.

yeah. no. patrick being with Screech's girl is straight up confirmed in extra content that Ren posted on other platfroms.. but the whole Violet being pregnant by her father is a fan theory and nothing more. There are a million and one reasons why Stevie could be calling Violet a liar, and none need to be based around her being already pregnant when they get together. he's an abusive asshole and like most of them he is insecure, probably jealous. he thinks he "caught her lying" because she was pretending to be asleep to escape yet another beating... or any other justification an abuser comes up with in the darkness of their own mind, to justify their actions. in fact, the timeline would argue against that being the case.. if she was removed from parental custody and given her own place at 16, she was still a minor in the time leading up to that... most likely, a pregnancy would have been discovered, monitored or even interrupted by social services.. certainly they would not have emancipated her and put her in a place of her own, abandoned to herself. Also, she would have known that there were 2 kids, whereas in the song she talks about "my baby" singular.. so she hasn't been seeing a doctor despite being 9 months pregnant.. I don't see social services allowing that to happen. furthermore, we don't actually know how old she is by the time she dies.. all we know is that she leaves her parent's house at sixteen... and then, later, she meets Stevie and ends up living with him... for all we know, this could have happened 10 years later. my point is.... we don't have a single element leading us to think her kids are not Stevie's but rather her father's, other than the fantasy of a few people in the comments, to which some others have latched on

@dehro
9 ай бұрын
@sorenm.lairdsorries7547if she is being emancipated and assisted by the state, most likely the dad is in jail for being a kiddie fiddler, so... Still not buying it and more than that... It's unnecessary. The attitude and questioning from Stevie do not need to be grounded in actual bad behaviour from Violet. They entirely fit within the frame of an abusive personality fishing for reasons to have a go at her. In a very different context, but not an entirely different mind frame, think of when MJ would psyche himself up against another player or team for a slight he perceived from them... He's been known to confirm that sometimes he would make the slight up, just to give himself an extra drive. An abuser will do that.. Knowingly or not. The story is already tragic and emblematic of generational trauma as it is, without having to add another layer that really had very little support in the lyrics, if any at all.
