The mystery violin sounds great. With what you started with you have brought it back and let it sing again. I hope you varnish it and give it lots of love. Your new violin is beautiful! Thanks for showing the hives again - our country needs more bees. Take care out there! Stupidicus.

In my early 20's, I bought two used violins from Coleman F. Olson. He was a music shop owner in the Bay Area. He also made violins. One violin was harsh and the other was woody. I loved the woody sound instantly. I like the tone of the mystery violin very much. I believe in time it will become very rich in tone. Looking forward to more of the cello build. Have a great week.

Thanks for another video full of interesting content. Your mystery violin sounds great to my ears, you've done an amazing job. I enjoyed the little snatch of "Semper Fidelis" that accompanied the varnishing. By the way I think Freddie might be working too hard - I could see him napping on top of the cabinet during the first minute of your video. Hope you have a great week!

The mystery violin does sound wonderful. Yet, like different types of bagpipes, it seems it would be more suited for play in a private parlor as opposed to the concert hall (at least, so far). Also, my shop is only located about 6 minutes north of the Mill. Y'all are more than welcome anytime to stop in for a visit of you're ever in the area again.

@@Violinsforu2 Yes! Let's hope the violin doesn't deteriorate into death! Might also the varnish help it to rejuvenate back to musical life? (Even if only for the use of a student player?)

Psalm 106:1 is the Hebrew minute I think. Thanks, Freddie for showing us the bees! I would like to know which hive he is opening--is it the calm bees or the Italian? The mystery violin sounds great--I knew you could do it! Glad you got some help with the cello! Have a good week!

So this year we have Italians and Russians, and a hive of unknown. The Italians are actually a lot nice this year than last years' bees. You got the Hebrew Minute! Thank you! See you soon!

the violin that has the varnish sound better however, the one without varnish sounds as though it wants to breath and clear his throat. He will sound wonderful and just as smooth as the other one the more he is played.

Wonderful question! I ended up using Tonica since I had just run out of ProArte. Since I have been playing it, I am contemplating moving up to Dominant or even something nicer but I will probably wait till it is varnished and see what it needs then. Thank you for commenting! Hope you have an awesome week!

Yes, I have thought that it might have been used as a fiddle in the past. I am curious if it will give a few hundred years more of music. Thank you for commenting and have a wonderful week!
