Please please please, do NOT rely on your tinted moisturizer or foundation for your SPF. Idk why IT STILL insists their SPF foundations have SPF 50 when it's been proven that it doesn't. To get any kind of sun protection you'd have to use a quarter of the tube
@hannahlevin3286
Жыл бұрын
Actually DEPENDS. The Tower28 one has 12% zinc, the Saie Sunvisor has 15%, and the Supergoop CC has a whopping 20% Zinc oxide. People just "say" that SPF moisturizers aren't good because many are not broad spectrum, and/or may not apply an adequate amount of it to = the protection on the label. But hey, the best broad spectrum SPF is the one you'll realistically use; a comfortable spf tinted moisturizer is more likely to be applied in an amble amount than a product labeled "sunscreen" that is thick, white, and oily. Pay more attention to the active ingredients' and their concentrations, to get a better idea of whether they protect well, -over the idea that something marketed as "a moisturizer" cannot effectively protect you. Just don't buy a spf moisturizer if you plan to swim, but for casual everyday use, it could be fine.
@isaackid09
Жыл бұрын
ikr. agree.
@kittycatrosie7515
Жыл бұрын
@@hannahlevin3286 Actually, the percentage of zinc oxide doesn’t tell you how effective the sunscreen is, it depends on how it’s formulated and on the other ingredients. You should pay attention to the spf rating to find that out, and then make sure you’re using the recommended amount and reapplying.
@hannahlevin3286
Жыл бұрын
@@kittycatrosie7515 Yes. So you wouldn't wear spf face moisturizer with 15% zinc in the water= bad protection, but for everyday it's fine. As long as you're wearing about a dime sized dot of spf on your face, you're getting the protection on the label, irregardless whether it's labeled as a regular sunscreen or a sunscreen moisturizer. The best spf is one that you're willing to wear and that is COMFORTABLE for you; a regular zinc spf that is uncomfortable an non-cosmetically elegant is going to likely offer less protection that u wearing an spf moisturizer, because if something is uncomfortable, you're much less likely to apply an adequate amount of it on.
@lex5233
Жыл бұрын
@@hannahlevin3286 a tinted moisturizer is not enough. You would need insane amount of product simply because it’s more diluted. There are good sunscreens that are t think white and oily too, you just have to find the right one. And a dime sized amount is not enough, you need much more. Usually 3 full fingers is fine, however you need more. The way to get enough sunscreen is applying 2.0 mg ok every cm^2 of your face ~ around a teaspoon of sunscreen.

Also ut evens out my skintone perfectly while still allowing my little “imperfections” to peek through, which I enjoy a lot. So don’t be deterred from trying it, you might like it. @Trucker Dave I'm close to 50 with my skin becoming more and more dry with age. I finally purchased the foundation a few months ago. My mom is now very interested in it as she suffers from dry skin too. She just turned 80 last month. What she liked about it on me is that it's very light coverage and feels very moisturizing and smooth, and you can use a powder with it. I now understand why mature women over 50 like this foundation more than younger women. It can be too "greasy" if your skin is oily or a combination of both oily and dry.

The Jones Road Balm is NOT a “gel-based” foundation. At all. It’s clearly CLEARLY an oil-based product. I mean - the foundation looking part is swimming in a pool of oil, inside of the jar. Neither is the Loreal Tinted Balm foundation. (This comment based on her statement “If you’re looking for another gel-based foundation… - which was said after discussing the Jones Road and Loreal products.) A gel formula certainly insinuates that it’s water-based. Not oil-based, not a silicone-heavy formula, not a thick and stiff balm consistency.

Im going to say this once... Makeup SITS on your face. You will have texture. It's not cakey, it's just your skin texture and thats okay! Makeup won't look "perfect". As a textured person, I get that it sucks. But you're makeup will have bumps and creases. For anyone who is worried about it being cakey, it's just your skin texture and it will still look beautiful! Skin texture is beautiful and natural. Don't let your texture stop you from doing what you love🥰 Edit: All I was doing long was explaining that your skin makes it LOOK cakey. I don’t love the t28 tinted moisturizer but with skin as sensitive and eczema prone as mine it’s the only thing holding me down lol. I just don’t like that it never seems to set so I go over it lightly with the nars pressed translucent powder

The Chantecaille foundation is FUCKING PERFECT 😭😭😭 I will cry and spend several hours worth of income in one swoop when my tub runs out. Thank goodness it's a large volume and you don't need much depending on your coverage preference

Sorry but if you have dry mature skin and use the kvd balm the correct way it’s the best foundation you’ll ever use. Damp sponge w it and BARELY getting any product on the sponge n it’s perfection! You can also apply w your fingers then go over w a sponge it’s so thin and light! Best cream Iv ever used for dry skin! I also use it for a spot concealer!

The It tinted moisturizer colors seem to be very yellow. There are really no neutral colors.

Which of these would you recommend for oily skin? Sorry if it's been asked before, I didn't see it in the comments yet!

Most just seem like they’re not good for YOU, plus almost all of these products are like triple the price than the viral ones.

I have really dry skin so I have to be extra like cautious because I want something that's going to last for 24 hours or longer ron not to dry my skin out.

Rare beauty is overrated. TikTok is blowing it up but honestly it's overpriced and it's just a regular makeup line.

Y’all please realize everyone’s skin is different so what might not work for her may very much work for you and vise versa

how are the skin and undertone tone ranges with these products? some products might work better for texture and application but that doesn’t really matter if there’s none that looks like your skin:(

can I get some non-spf recommendations? I’m highly allergic and seem to only like spf based formulas 🤧 (I like light-medium coverage)
