Okay, possibly stupid question here! Why do we use our heat gun to take the sticky tags off of our items, but use the heat gun to "activate" the sticky to set the vinyl?

I know I'm really late for this but: it's the same principle, you are basically "liquidifying" the glue, in one instance for it to be easier to remove and in the other because that way you make sure you are activating all of it and when it cools down it will have the maximum surface possible set and flush against the material it's sticking to

Love both versions of replacing the cover sheets on the cutting mats. Will definitely try both. I usually take mine and using the Taco fold, line up with the hanging hole and let go. 9 ✖️ out 10 that’s it. Love watching Corine, she’s always got great ideas ❤❤

For me at this point none of these hacks are new. If for whatever reason I need to keep my mat flat I just stick a ruler in the storage drawer. I use coffee filters instead of paper towels for alcohol. They are cheaper and aren't linty.

Could someone help me understand the difference between printable vinyl and vinyl sticker paper? Are they the same thing? What’s the benefit of the printable vinyl vs like a normal glossy sticker paper?

I saw the hack with using the roll to keep your mat from dangling, however, I have my cricut maker 3 sitting on top of 2 monitor stands put together to elevate it. My husband has a 3D printer and he found a printable mat extension and it is a game changer. It just slips into the notch on the tool cover space and doesn't move - works amazingly.

I found an easier way to put the cover sheets on the mats. Hang the mat on a hook like you have behind you, then just hang the cover sheet right on top. Works every time.

So funny that I couldn't get my Cricut weeding tool end to pop out, but my dollar tree one did and it has it too! I finally got my cricut tools to pop out with a little more pressure and they all have it, even the ones not for weeding. YAY, cool hack.

I am a BIG fan of using a heat gun on vinyl!!! It heats up the adhesive but it also pushes out the air and almost “suctions” the vinyl to the glass/plastic/acrylic. It works amazing on PVC bags like you take to a stadium or on clear makeup bags

I appreciate the reminder of the alternative for putting a cover back on a mat - I don’t really have the best space to put mine under my maker but have done it - this other way will probably work better from a space perspective. Not a fan of using the end of my weeding tool as the space is very small & cleaning it out will be more frustrating to me than other ways I discard my weeded bits - I actually made my own design on CDS to decorate a cleaned out wipes container (square type not tube style) as the inner opening is perfect for weeding. I shared my design on CDS, too. Love Corrine’s videos - I haven’t cut felt or fabric yet, will keep in mind if I do. Thanks, Tanner!

They are all great but with the felt hack when lining the mat with the transfer paper I leave the paper backing on it, use the taco method, weed the transfer paper to ensure there are no air bubbles and than I remove the paper backing. I find it easier this way. Hope this helps someone 😊

They're all great hacks, but heating the vinyl is new to me. I will try that one. Weeding with the end of the weeding tool is great for tiny designs but I don't usually make designs that small. Thanks for all the tips!!

I love the weeding tool find! I had no ideas 😄 I do use the roll under my mat and I do like it. I work on the end of my table and when it’s on the roll cutting I can still finish in front of the machine.

Not sure if anyone has already commented on this, the dual purpose weeding hack even works for the Dollar Tree weeding tool. The end cap removes, and has the same opening with the notched sides to catch your vinyl weeded material!

Just chose this video randomly to ask you a question. Is there a way to find out the intention of the designers in Design Space? Yesterday I cut an envelope design and was unable to figure out the engineering of it to put it together. The envelope had a beautiful section at the top that may or may not should have been folded down. I searched and clicked on several things including the designer's name but could not find any instructions. It is frustrating! Although I let the image ghosted on the canvas, it was gone when I turned it on today. Quite often the images stay put if they are ghosted in the right hand column and sometimes they just are gone. Called Cricut helpline today but was not able to get a method to find instructions for the images. Thank you in advance if you have any suggestions.

I tried and the roll actually rolled off one time so now I put a metal ruler in the bottom tray underneath the cover so it sticks out and holds the mat level. It actually works better.

The square template hack to fit all print and cut designs on is used by any cricut user already, surely? It's almost common sense. I like the heat gun sealing technique for the vinyl though.

Loved the other hacks but the weeding hack is not so fantastic because it would only help with very small bits and then trying to get the bits out would be a big pain. I’ve seen where people think it was made for weeding but it really is only so they can put different color ends during manufacturing.
