Not necessarily there are different levels of nursing that gives different scopes of practices. To be a licensed practical nurse you don't need a degree just a certification. When I came out, I went back into printing and started doing volunteer work in history (my passion). That's when I discovered people with their masters in history driving city busses for a living. Spent my elementary school years in an Indian Residential School, right here in the 🇨🇦 Province where I am currently living. They had us working in kitchens, a Magdalena style Laundry, milking cows and mucking stalls, inappropriately dressed for the weather in zero and subzero temperatures and taking care of the animal husbandry needs of our cows with basically 0% of monetary, equipment resources or access to proper veterinary medicine and staff with which to get the job done. I worked every one of these jobs, plus the school librarian gave me a better than regular, proper education and I helped her to rebind old, broken down books. I, in my time, have been subjected to just about every form of worker exploitation that a human being can be subjected to. Right here in good ol' 🇨🇦, the country which can boast the highest education standards and number of persons who have attained a University degree on the face of the planet. I have a University degree. Every one of our Provinces and the Federal government, over the course of our Nationhood have jiggered the employment laws of our land to suit their various needs and purposes against those of their citizens and the workers. Making life for the Haves as grand as can be and life for the Have Nots Working Class, tougher than the hard tack which is fast becoming the only thing which they are able to afford to get to eat. My point being that the level of hardship that this young woman is boiling in, is positively inhumane to be enduring. Higher levels of leadership require a masters degree, of which the employer will also pay for. Many nurses interested in higher leadership roles obtain a masters in healthcare administration. Some nurses go on to become a nurse practitioner, which is what many of us see in lieu of an MD these days, due to the shortage and expense of doctors. No teachers, no learning to read or do math, good luck getting any job. No doctors and nurses, hope you can take care of all your health concerns yourself, hope you never get cancer or need any kind of surgery. Maybe instead of hating on the poor girl for trying to get ahead and help people who look down on her, understand that not everyone knows what they want to do with their life at 18, and that climbing out of generational poverty is harder than it looks from the other, richer side of the fence.

Its sad. Almost all jobs now require at least a bachelor’s and then right off the bat in order to work you are saddled with student loan debt that you can’t ever pay off because of the interest that accrues. These young people were told and encouraged to go college by the same people that never had student debt because college was free or $3-7 dollars a unit. Now its hundreds of dollars a unit and the colleges are worthless. All of the extra moneys pays the administrators millions while the predatory lenders make double or tripled the borrowers debt. All of the debt should be forgiven and nobody should have to pay it back because it should’ve been illegal to do what the universities and lenders have done. The burden shouldn’t fall on the tax payers. It should fall on the universities and the predatory lenders.

I'm sorry you're going through this. You did what you were told. It's all the unspoken secrets that people don't share. Your parents failed to guide you correctly. Instead of paying their mortgage off as a child, which technically was your parents responsibility not yours. I'm sure they meant well but the opposite took place. There are many factors at play here like destructive parentification, cultural tradition, learned behavior, and unlearning the poverty mindset. Your parents should have allowed you to be a child. They could have guided you to purchase your own home instead paying theirs off. Having renters or flipping a property gets ppl out of poverty and could have paid your tuition off. The secrets no one shares are real estate, flipping, entrepreneurship, investing and finding a job that makes 6 figures with a certification. There are jobs in technology that require a certification in exchange for a high salary. Let that sink in for a bit. A certification? Sometimes, those who go to college end up working harder. It's all about working smart. And, all about learning how to play chess in a world that teaches checkers. I hope you focus on mental health because the older ppl get the body can break down. Nourish your mind, soul and body. Find peace in all of this. This amount of weight you've carried since the age of 16 can lead to illness in the body and psychological distress. Take care of yourself now. Take it from someone that went through it.

The debt is not the problem. He should tell schools that students will only pay reasonable amount and predatory loan companies that interests are unconstitutional. “Cancelling debt” is just forcing other struggling households to foot the bill. The unethical entities still get paid.

I'm curious when people take out those insane levels of college loans when 18.. what is their thought process? Like did you think it would be free money? A much better solution than "cancelling" student debt.. which isn't cancelling just the federal government borrowing to pay it off, is allowing student loans to become bankruptable again. When students start getting them removed in bankruptcy, institutions will stop loaning ridiculous amounts of money to people who can't pay it back, and college costs will come down, because there's not endless free money to pay for it. It's a win-win-win scenario.

Roommates, Kraft dinner, 12 hour work days, used car, bite your nails, and hobby that costs $20 for 1000 hours of enjoyment. The problem I think is people don’t do the math. They assume they follow a path and it’ll lead them to a reasonable outcome. You can pick where you live, what you do, and how hard you work. If you picked an English degree while living in New York and worked 20 hours a week at a part time job, you didn’t do the math. Literally calculate tuition costs, living expenses, and how much you make, and plug it into the time frame at which you’d want a desired outcome and do it.

I guess is bc we are always told the wrong thing. When my cousins were in high school. Community college was viewed as a joke. Four years is were is at if u want a good education. Years later I was in high school. Community college was viewed as the affordable option. However, college was still viewed as the way to be successful. I rmr my teacher laugh at a boy for saying u can still have good paying job and not go to college. I rmr in freshman orientation, they compare high school degree income to a bachelor/master/PhD income. The difference was a lot. They made it seem that if u have a college degree, u will be set for life. They never compare the debit they are in or talk about trade jobs u can get. What degree is useful vs. useless. I rmr in my senior year, and they literally push u to apply for college even if u r not interested. I rmr my friend was considering going into a trade or military. She told the counselor that college wasn't for her and she is barely passing high school. So she knows she will fail college. Yet couselor told her to apply bc she may change her mind and have better options.

A degree is a degree they all pay the same 2nd possible mistake, moving out Rent is your entire paycheck If you paid off your parents mortgage take out a loan on the house for a 3.5% down payment + closing cost Get a house and get 2 roommates. Get your parents back to work. (If you can’t, get two jobs for a year) 3rd mistake, buying anything If it doesn’t keep you alive or employed don’t buy it Invest time into making a good resume and finding a higher paying job. (50k minimum.) This is what I’d do if I couldn’t cry my way out of it on TikTok. (No offense) Hope this helps anyone that sees this.

They fired me after two years because of interpersonal bullshit. College could have never taught me what I learned working in this field. I figured my chance to get another design job would be good since my NYC job experience...but nope.... I applied for jobs for a year and a half and nothing.. turns out a degree is more important than job experience....Now Im an underpaid Amazon delivery driver that pees in bottles. Great story. I enlisted with the USMC for 6 years. I lived on base where everything was free. In that 6 years, I saved enough money to buy a house, a vehicle, AND a college education. After ollege, I enlisted again and stayed for 11 more years. When I got out the second time, I bought 300 acres of woodland in southern missouri and immedietly sold the lumber rights for 14 times the price U bought the land for. Now i am sitting pretty on almost 1000 acres in wyoming. Im retired and living the dream. I did this by NOT making stupid choices and taking out loans for things that came with no guarentees.
