I really appreciate these applications where the texture of the hair is NOT bone straight. I think it's so much better for the hair and I like the fuller look.

I completely agree and that's how I was taught in cosmetology school. I was always taught to soften the hair for manageability and to never break the integrity of the hair down to the point of compromising the health of the hair strands. Unfortunately some styles looks better when hair is relaxed to the point of bone straight, like finger waves.

Beautiful Hair and Great Styling!!! Question, what relaxer did you use? And was it lye or no lye? What deep conditioner did you use?
@jax4u856
3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, my favorite relaxer to use is Vitale brand: olive oil anti breakage no base relaxer. To be completely honest it's the only brand I use and I never use anything past regular strength no matter the texture. I use mild and regular strength depending on the hair. I'm going to eventually work on a video on how I make my deep conditioner treatment but at the current moment I have to go through the videos that I already have lined up.

Why'd you cut her hair wet? Especially her bangs, I know with ethnic hair it's not usually done because our hair shrinks when dried.

is it necerssary to blow dry or use heat after the relaxer?

Not at all, I actually don't prefer to iron hair after any chemical service. I usually recommend a non tension hooded dryer hair style like a roller wrap.

@@user-qk2pb8om2k i wouldn't recommend relaxing hair that has already been relaxed but If I had to fix a situation like that I would wet the hair 24hours before attempting to relax the hair, this allow me to see all the hair that I had missed and only target those areas. I hope this helps in some way.

URGENT: how many containers of relaxers did you use?
@jax4u856
3 жыл бұрын
I only used a portion of a large container normally sold to licensed cosmetologist but if your using a smaller portion container like the boxed relaxer, I probably would have used 1.5 to 2 containers for that length

@@jax4u856 PLEASE HELP. I just did my relaxer and the person leftit in for almost 2 hours (it's a long story) but basically now it's like textlaxed, the roots are underptocessed and the ends are puffy. I want to do a corrective relaxer in about 2 months but some of my strands are relaxed super straight (the middle). Besides chopping all my hair off, what can I do to rectify this?? Do you have any recommendations?
@jax4u856

@@swisdom9117 maybe I could offer a video consultant with you so I can visually see what you are describing because none of your hair strands should be under processed if your chemical was left in for 2 hours, in fact your entire head of hair should be over processed with also chemical burns to the scalp and edges.

@@jax4u856 hi, is the consultation still on the table? I am noticing something about my hair. It doesn't feel slimy or rough now that it has dried. It's actually black and shiny since I applied scurl + ors hair lotion + argan oil. I also applied olive oil protein leave-in and my hair isn't coming out in the comb anymore (it wasn't coming out bad before; it's like excessive shedding, now breakage). I'm wondering if my hair is iron and actually okay now but I'm not sure. Is my hair supposed to be coming out? Will I see excessive breakage in the coming weeks? I plan to do a corrective relaxer in about 4 weeks, and I am gonna do the aphogee 2 step protein treatment during that time. I'm keeping my hair in twists in the meantime. What do you think of all this? Can we still do the consultation?

was her hair in its natural state or was it pressed previously?
@jax4u856

This was a first time customer for me, I'm wasn't familiar with the full history of her hair. According to my customer's information she was natural and she requested a virgin relaxer. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail when she arrived to her appointment. Before starting my relaxer I did a strand test on her hair in 2 different areas and the bottom half of the hair was more curly and ruff compared to the the top half of her hair, so I decided to start where the tighter curls were identified and worked my way to the root to avoid breaking her hair.
