I marched down Letcher Avenue many times. Only one song was played: "Dixie." What a thrilling memory. I still get chills up and down my back just thinking about it.

VMI caved to woke and traditions are no more. Disgusting.

It is a shame Americans are so easily offended now that a song written by a damnyankee, Dixie, is banned, cancelled, shunned, etc. I mean it is a song, and a fine song, but still just a song and the lefties get triggered about it.

Class of 1970 of The Citadel here. Have always admired and had great respect for VMI and her graduates. (Except for our annual football game! :-) ) While in the Army for 26 years, I had great VMI friends and colleagues. We had sooooo much in common. The Institute's Corps of Cadets looks mighty sharp in this video. Well done!!

Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I was so excited to be there that day for a visit with our grandson. Ultimately, he chose VMI and is currently a Rat, NROTC. We're so proud of him ❤️

I am a graduate of The Citadel and have the upmost respect for VMI. A classmate of mine was the long time track coach at VMI. A great school with a fine tradition. George C Marshall was in my opinion the greatest General in my lifetime.

@@cookingwithconniemorewohlf4538 You need to research his life. A VMI graduate and the Chief of Staff of the Army in World War ii. Later wrote the Marshall plan for the rebuilding of Europe after the war.

Very interesting that I was in the Visitors Center in Gordonsville, Virginia today and saw something about him. I recognized his name from your comment, plus I had look him up and recognized his picture. I'll dig in a little more. Our grandson is currently a Rat at VMI so I want to post more videos from there on the future. We're great admirers of our military service members.
