I've been following your podcast and watching your lectures for years and just wanted to pop in with some encouraging words. Thank you for all the time and effort you spend sharing this knowledge with the world. People talk a lot about "awful everything" these days (all days, always?), but free first class learning on subjects critical to human thriving is certainly a "wonderful something." Please, keep it up.

when you talked about measles, it just came to my mind that my father used to call us kids sarampo (measles in portuguese), when we misbehave. he had a lot of unusual names to call us, lol. thanks from Brazil, dr. Racaniello! I'm learning so much on your classes!

Hello Vincent May I comment in reference to your statement that older people aren't suppose to live past reproductive age. Older people, often past reproduction age, may increase the fitness of their relatives, children parents, and as such have been selected for in hominid evolution. They can take care of children, they have accumulated knowledge during their extended lives and this contributes to the reproductive fitness of the group and the group is often related to varying degrees. I love your class! It's like being an undergraduate again after so long. You are a great teacher. thank you Bob McCarrick

Could you stay on your slides when you talk through a quiz question? Then switch to the survey system to show the answers people have given?

Thank you, Vincent! Awesome lecture, again. I will now stop using fingers to ease itches in my eyes. And I will tell people to get their kids MPR vax.

If increased viral load makes people sicker, and then also is more contagious, wouldn't that be a reason why virulence through increased viral load be selected for? Because then increased viral load would be involved in reproduction.
