Absolute genius, for skaters so young, to accomplish such intricate steps, such deep edges, at such speed, with such grace and precision, it's like witnessing the birth of these future legends of ice dancing , never equaled. The meteorite trajectory of Virtue and Moir is already in motion, totally predictable

I think they simply were born one to another. Because the one's talent completes the other's talent like two pieces that fit perfectly in each other! Simply magnificent and inseparable!

From what ive read so far it was in their 16/18 years when their relationship sort of turned sour. Scott was visibly resentful of Tessa - don't know why. It showed in one of their programs where Tessa nearly had an awkward back fall because Scott didn't support her long enough for her to regain balance. And he appeared mad because she ruined their chance to get to Nationals. Just my analysis. Could be wrong though.

You might say that what would have happened a few years later it was already written in the stars.A huge talent.Of course it is important to the training, a great coach, even a little luck. The constant hard training is up to you, the good coach you can find it.But about the talent, God gave it to you or not. That 's what makes the difference between a great champion and a superstar ever. The great champions pass, the absolute champion is likely to remain for ever

Her talent level was off the charts. Super-fast, deep knees, extremely precise, upper body control, chin always up, superb posture. Her ballet training shows. He was good too but she was on the verge of out-skating him almost. Amazing. Legendary dance champions.

You're right about pretty much everything except the most important thing in ice dancing is the footwork. As brilliant an athlete as Tessa is, her skating skills did not nearly match Scott's. At least before 2014 and finally 2018 which is when she really became exceptional. Scott's skating skills were and are extremely superior, it just doesn't show the same way because as an audience when we first see a routine we focus on the skate as a whole as opposed to specific elements.

Come on. It is not only about his skating skills. He needs to lift 60 kg every two minutes and land her safely.

Ahira Castellian I disagree. I have watched some videos from when they still used to do some singles rotines and Tessa was so much better than him. And let’s not forget that she skated in extreme pain for 7 years when they just got in the senior level.

I personally always thought she was the better individual dancer of the two. True he had to lift her and handled her very well but he looks clumsy in certain parts of the program.

They have always been so talented, even when they were much younger than they are here. This is such a fun routine and I love how Scott's singing. :P I have to say, though, I believe this is the one season in which the age difference between them is highly apparent. I love how, at such a tender age, Tessa had already developed a myriad of facial expressions. At 3:43 she makes almost the exact same face that she makes multiple times in their Mahler FD. AHHH SO GOOD!

All of you commenting on their apparent divergent levels of physical and emotional maturity -- Scott clearly the younger -- are spot on. During these mid-teen years there was a real disconnect in the rates of their physical maturation. Tessa had the androgynous athletic body habitus of an 800 m runner about to break 2:00. Scott looks like a second row clarinet player in the high school band, only half-way through puberty. I suspect he's only 2 years removed from the beetle-down-the-shirt level of inter-gender relationship management but, mercifully, within 3 years he had morphed into a more self-assured hockey defenseman with the skating skills and muscle mass needed to forestall dropping his precious cargo. It didn't hurt that his on-ice persona had matured from pre-pubertal Justin Bieber to Mack the Knife, either.
