Kronos is better. Pairing it with a 3rd wave desktop. Literal best combination in the world

@@ThisIsArashi it's extremely easy. It's the end all be all, as an industry nerd, it's by far my favorite combination. You can even pair it with an osmose expressive e because both the kronos and 3rd wave have polyphonic aftertouch. Yes even the kronos from 2012 has polyphonic aftertouch. You can get one used right now for only $2000! Both together is $5500 with taxes and shipping. Roland stuff sucks get their fantom 0 series and save yourself a lot of money. You get 80% of the features of a fantom but way cheaper. Montage m is useless it just has pretty lights, not enough good updates came out for it, it's engine capability barely changed. Added some mid VA engine and 128 factory preset voices which is worthless as it's locked to factory presets. It's still 128 voices for both fmx and awm2. Not worth it, get an old one used for $2000. Kronos has 240 sampling voices, Roland has 256, they are practically the same except I think Roland might have a faster CPU. Montage m has an arm chip but is barely being used to its potential, have to wait for more updates. Kronos has a better fx section than both of them. Nautilus is currently not worth it, not enough big updates to justify it over a Kronos as it's just a Kronos with a new ui and no hardware controls. I personally don't like nord, their pianos are beat by software pianos, their organs are beat by real orands like Hammonds that Jordan rudess uses, and their synth section sounds lifeless to me. The synth section on all korg yamaha Roland and nord flagships suck to me in comparison to the 3rd wave. The 3rd wave in terms of raw sound is significantly better than anything those keyboards have to offer, it's a 24 voice 4 part multi timbre 80s mega machine. It does better wave tables than the Waldorf iridium and quantum, and virtual analog is just as good as artuiras and sequential and oberheims. The detune mode is the same as with those 3 companies, and now the 3rd wave, best EVER invented. It doesn't have fpga based oscillators like the UDO stuff, but it has free running oscillators. It's also the only synth in the world that isn't a sequential to have real ssi2140 filters, all the other synths like UDO use the Korg favored ssi2144. The ssi2140 filters sound better. It also has a digital oberheim sem filter, better than any oberheim filter that isn't made by oberheim in either a software or hardware instrument. Simply the best. I don't recommend any UDO or behringer products because their drift/detune mode sucks. Sounds nothing like a real synth. Don't buy behringer ubxa, because the sem filter on the 3rd wave sounds better and actually hits the higher frequency range which the ubxa drops out. It does wave tables and virtual analog in my opinion, better than every flagship with from most companies. It has sampling to but the sampling on the Kronos is way better. Otherwise just get a Kronos 2 88 for $2000 if you don't need wave tables or virtual analog. Kronos 2 leads are still the best, not cause of the virtual analog, but the fx section is 80% of what you hear when Jordan plays leads.
