Brazil is less safe than the US and Europe, that’s a fact, but Brazil is not as dangerous for tourists as the media and some people who haver been in Brazil suggest, like you would be robbed once you stepped foot in the streets. Hey guys, Idk if you have everything planned for your trip here in Brazil, but if you can, you should visit the northeast, like the "Lençois Maranhenses", it's amazing. Salvador is really beautiful too. But another tip is: the south of Brazil. It's really unique here in Brazil 'cause of the architecture, specially in Rio Grande do Sul wich is very germany style. The "Foz do Iguaçu" is amazing too. Another beautiful place is the Jardim Botânico in Curitiba - Parana, it's located in the south of Brazil too.

The association continue the work to preserve the legacy of portuguese culture). Sorry for the mistake, I'm not from Rio. Actually The National Library is much bigger and prettier. LoL All of those buildings reflect the influence of the Portuguese Royal Family explained in the text down bellow; The National Library, is one of the 10 largest libraries in the world. Protected as a patrimony by UNESCO. Was a legacy by the Portuguese Royal family when they escape to Brazil by november 29, 1807, because of the invasion of Lisbon by Napoleon forces at december 1, 1807. That decision was crucial to the Royal family to keep the power about ports and commerce. They were supported by United Kingdom that was agains Continental Blockade Napoleon's policy's. The Portuguese Royal Family stayed in Brazil until april 26, 1821. They leave tecnolgy, art and science as their legacy during the period. When they leave Brazil was the beginning to our independence. We payed indenization for most part of the legacy LoL

Here, for example, there is the beautiful city of Bonito in the Mato Grosso do Sul and those Foz of Iguaçu Falls in Paraná. Which is like the Niagra Falls, only in a tropical place. Legal.

Being brazilian, I hate the habit of many brazilians glamorizing the hardships of life in favelas, and I never had any honest admiration for these stairs in the middle of a favela. To be frank, Rio is very overrated, there are so many better places in Brazil, especially in South of Brazil, and it's also a lot safer. If you have the opportunity to visit the South, you won't regret it, you'll find it very similar to many places in Europe, ethnically speaking.

Hi ! Discover the northeast of Brazil. Alagoas has beaches with warm waters and very blue, I recommend visiting São Miquel dos Milagres, Maragogi.

@@TheTravelbum Ask your friend to take you to "Ilha Fiscal". It's a tiny island over which is a beautiful castle built by the end of the XIX century especially for the last ball of the Empire, before Brazil become a Republic, as the Portuguese Royal family reigned in Brazil for around 80 years and 3 generations, as the whole Court ran away from Europe to escape Napoleaon invasions. Rio de Janeiro, during that period, was the capital of the Portuguese Empire. The castle is near the place where you saw the Mural with the Graphic Art, and it's part of the Marine area, managed by it. You can visit the castle on Saturdays and Sundays, (12:30, 14:00, 15:30). It's R$36,00 per person. You take a schooner and in 15 minutes you get there, as it's in the Guanabara bay. Watch this video (unfortunately, it does not have English subtitles) of a Brazilian youtuber that has just been there. kzitem.info/news/bejne/lXqwqaNoqaZ8pXY

Beautiful library, so happy you checked out that unique place. The tile stairs are so incredible. Lindsey, yay!- you found chocolate- I was wondering when will you encounter cake. The chocolate tiles are great find. So many to look at, beautiful functional mosaic. Thanks for sharing this wonderful day of architectural design.
