Don't know if the other viewers caught that but when you said you can even stand on a corner in Winslow AZ, you smirked. Song by The Eagles, Take it Easy 😉. Most people have no idea how much natural beauty there is in NY State once you get out of the City, the City of New York is only a tiny part of the huge state. There are hundreds of miles of forests, rivers, hills and many small towns. Those that think NY is all the City need to look at a map. Yes, the City is exciting, but there is so much more to the State! BTW, I LOVE your channel, you kids are awesome!!

I think the tabacco ads are kind of funny! I have taken the Southwest Chief twice and they had a smoking car on board. The old Amtrak Station in Albuquerque was so cool and you could buy Indian blankets and crafts like that. I lived in Santa Fe and Albuquerque for a year and traveled around the state. I also suggest the UFO Museum in Roswell. When I was in high school in El Paso Carlsbad Caverns is amazing! Go when you can see the bats

Union Station Chicago is very nice as well . We found the beds in the Viewliner more comfortable. Traditional dining was great too . We met many interesting people in the , observation and dining cars . Everyone should try the long distance Amtrak trains it’s a great experience and a fantastic way to see the USA !

Very enjoyable. We're Boomers who made the gruelling mid-June trip down old Route 66 from Barstow to Chicago on the way back to New York in the late 1950s. The original road isn't even there any more. Route 66 was nothing like the gentrified tourist attraction seen today. Winslow Arizona was downright horrifying. Most of the historic highway ran through the edges of incredibly squalid Indian reservations. Despite the fact we had a brand-new Chevy station wagon bought in Los Angeles, it's not the type of trip I'd ever take again.

You should have taken one of the Grand Canyon Railway tours for your visit to the Grand Canyon. Night at the Fra Marcos at Williams, train to the Canyon (pay the extra for the Dome - worth it), night or two (depends on package chosen) at the Canyon, train back, another night in the Fra Marcos and then on with your trip. Worth it, believe me. We wondered, but decided to do it that way, and it was the right decision.

Just my opinion but I highly doubt anyone is enforcing you wearing a mask if you are in a sleeper room by yourself. Might have an issue in coach. not sure but I don't see how anyone would ever enforce something like that while you are in your bedroom or roomette.

How often does Amtrak ask for ID if you purchase the ticket online before hand? I have somewhere important I need be but my license is a year past expiration and you have to set up an appointment with the DMV now. You can't just walk in. I'm in dire need of advice. I don't want get thrown off the Amtrak after paying and all that.
@deeann7777U
3 жыл бұрын
I took an Amtrak ride recently and no one ever asked for ID. However, in light of recent events ( a derailment in Montana and a shoot-out between DEA agents and drug runners inside of an Amtrak train in Tucson), that may change. Get your ID if you can. Your printed ticket clearly says ID is required to ride. They may not ask for it, but they ask for it and you don't have it, there could be a problem.
