So incredibly grateful that Robin shared her expertise with us! Would love to hear what resonated with you or stood out for you! To provide some clarification, Robin provided this statement about Vitamin D and Vitamin D3: "When Vitamin D is mentioned it’s D3 that it implied. Vitamin D3 is what you want. More specifically Vitamin D3+K2 is even better. The K2 makes the D3 more efficient. Disclaimer: K2 is not recommended for anyone taking a blood thinner. (Robin Muhammed)". Also, as a reminder, this is a video that covers one small aspect related to hair loss, interventions, etc. Always check with your doctor and hair care professionals for full treatment options and recommendations. Feel free to leave a comment and be sure to share this with anyone who you think could benefit from it! 💛👑

Thank you Lord for bringing this video my way this morning 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽. I had COVID in 2020, after that my hair began to thin out especially on my crown and edges. I remember my blood work in 2021 showed that I was totally depleted of vitamin D. My PCP told me to take some vitamin D but never discussed the importance of it and the effects it has on the hair and body. I tried several hair products but today is my day of victory over hair loss. I’m beginning my journey on vitamin D3 and K2. My annual visit is in October and I will have my doctor check my levels. Excellent information and very well explained. One thing i would add though, we must supplement Magnesium with D3 because D3 will deplete Magnesium from your body and you will start having some serious problems like heart flutters, heart palpitations, muscle cramps etc. so just like K2 is very important so is Magnesium. For the very best absorption of D3 use the following D3 cofactors. K2 Magnesium Zinc Boron ❤

After taking my covid-19 vaccine. I realize a drastic change with my immune system. I started to get flu often. I've never had an allergy issue before from pollen. That now started. I notice a lot of hair lost and more. I started to read, research, and listen to videos about eating healthy. I went to my doctor and asked for certain tests, including my vitamin D. To my surprise, my vitamin D were low. Since then, I have been educating myself about my body and drop eating many foods that are not healthy. I also learned about vitamin D3 + K2. I listen to a lot of Dr. Bobby Price and Patrick Delves on youtube. My health is way much better. Your health is in your hand. What I also observe is that a lot of doctors don't know certain things. Their jobs are to treat you. I'd say educate yourself about your body. Thanks for this video. You're on point.

So glad this podcast came up. Really enjoyed listening to Robin. I have been takibg D3 for years my level has dropped to 27. I was given 800ius in a blue capsule form. My levels eventually went up into the 50s. It was not explained to me how important this was. I moved away and my levels dropped again. I was feeling tired and dizzy again. Went back to the doctors and my level had dropped to 29. I was put on 20,000 ius to be taken twice a week. I went to the pharmacy as I had ran out. The reason for running out was because on the box it said take daily. I was told to stop and put on a lower level. My energy level shot up, no feeling dizzy. I was no longer taking supplements. I did not understand why it was a little white tablet and not the little blue get like capsule and put it down to costs. We are lucky to have the NHS. I decided to take matters into my own hands and do my research thanks to smart phones which opens us up into a world of info and access to people like Robin. I have listened to loads of podcasts and have learnt so much from this podcast more than the others I have come across. I went up to 1000ius daily the 2000is, 3000ius. The tiredness came back, but this is also due to personal situations in my life and being diagnosed with diabetes which I am waiting for referral to get help to put it into remission. I don't always take Vit D3 daily. I have just started 4000ius a few days ago. I do not know my level and will now enquire and be asking more questions. I did not know a lot about Vit K but did look into foods that provided K. I also take nutritional yeast B12 and did not know about the importance of B vitamins. I also started on magnesium but ran out and have not been on it for months. I hate medication and have lived with pain for 30yrs and was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease over 10yes ago in my mid 40s. I am now 57yrs of age. My knees ache and crunch, my neck and spine. I have always been an active person, but the personal things in my life have knocked me back. The tiredness came back and Robin mentions the mechanical bull, going to a party and eating all the cake 😂. The key is to not give up. Listen to someone like Robin and seek help. Thank you.

I haven't even finished the video. Last year, I went to my Dr for a referral to see a dermatologist. He did a whole panel. My vitamin D3 level was 7 ( severely deficiency). He was like, "Do you ever go outside?" No sir, its 1000 outside here in Az. He then asked about my hair, I was like it falling out, his reply was that could be one of the reasons my hair is falling out. He put me on D3, and when I did a 3 month follow-up, my level increased to 10. He also suggested foods to increase my vitamin D3. I did notice a difference in overall health. He wants my levels to get at least 20. 30 would be optimum. Anything over 51-150 could be toxic.

Vitamin D is very important and it does act like a hormone in our body. It is very important for not just the immune system but also cell development, bones and many system functions. It is a fat soluble vitamin that should be consumed along with a fat; so not on an empty stomach. nuts, olive oil, dairy fat, fish, eggs or meat. Women need more than men because we have more fat on our bodies then most men. I am considered obese 5'5" 200lbs so I take more because I am currently carrying more fat. Doctors and the FDA has not increased the RDA for it so it is still low ... they recommend 500 to 1000 iu daily but that is just enough to keep us from getting rickets. Due to fortified cereals, juice and milk we don't get Rickets anymore. I had to do more research on Vitamins because I am sun sensitive. I have PMLE Polymorphous light eruption. So I need to cover when I am outside. My melanin was not helping me :). 0-20 is anemic, 20 -29 is deficient but optimum is 30-100. I take 5,000iu daily and increased to 10,000 during COVID. I never contracted covid. I think because of my vitamin regimen. I have gotten my levels to 43-45. I feel good but I feel my best when my levels are at 73. I take 5000 iu d3 + 100mcg K2 If I don't feel well or when cold and flu season starts I will take 10,000 iu + 200mcg k2 I get tested 2 times a year. I also take my vit d before noon if I take it too late in the day it may keep me up. The same with my B complex. I take magnesium in the evening along with my vit c and Iron. Since increasing my Vit d my PMLE is much better. I don't burn as easily and my skin recovers faster if I do get sunburn. I like the Nature Made and CVS brand Vit D3 I use the Nature Made K2. Again I get tested and I have been doing this for years. I garden and cook my own food vs eating fast food and carry out. So nutrition matters!

@roki5337 Omgosh, you’ve just given me a name to what I’ve been suffering with since early adulthood. PMLE…I’ve never heard the name of this disorder before. Since, early adulthood I have been wearing sweatshirt during the hot summer…or I don’t go outside until the sun is going down. This has cause some issues with going out with my children, but they do understand that I will literally burn, itch, and break out in bumps on whatever skin is exposed. I even wear a face shield due to this and my other skin disorder. I’m a mess😂😂 It’s good to know that Vitamin D can help with this and now knowing that I need K2 to boost the potency, is a Godsend. I’m glad that there are women out here that are willing to help each other be better, without gatekeeping the information. Appreciate you😊

@@romanahatfield-jo6bo I would say to talk to your doctor but from all of my readings it does not have an interaction that could cause an issue. They are not processed the same in the body. @@seedsower77g42 You are so very welcome. I would never gate keep something like this. It is important to know that although you have something that many other people do not have you are not alone. I would not want anyone to suffer. Here are a few other things to help you out. For me I get a itchy rash a few hours after I get inside. I don't realize it until I scratch and then look and see I have a sun burn rash. If you scratch it ...OH goodness it makes it worse and it can get infected. ** The key is to not to scratch. Cortizone really did not work that well for me unless it is a higher dose. Calamine helped but I looked like the pink panther. ** Ask your doctor to give you a prescription of Triamcinolone Acetonide ointment 0.1%. this will help to repair your skin after a sunburn. IT IS AMAZING! A little goes a long way though so no need to slather yourself in it. I apply 2 times a day when I have a heat rash/ sunburn. PREVENTING SUNBURN IS KEY ** Solar sleeves will save you! No need to wear a sweatshirt in the summer and look crazy and over heat. I got mine from amazon. It may be called UV sun protection sleeves. You wear your regular clothes but put the sleeves on to keep your arms covered but it is breathable! Many offer up to 50 spf . I keep them in my car as well because my left arm gets burned from driving. They also have solar gloves as well which I wear while cutting the grass or doing yard work. **Wear breathable flowy long sleeve shirts and dresses or pants. I am not Muslim but I do dress modestly because I like too but it helps keep my skin covered. Look for Modesty shirts. Sometimes they are called a base layer shirt. Kind of like the ones the nurses wear under scrubs. I love the long sleeve dresses to feel cute but covered. I even have the long sleeve bathing suits! ** SPF100 if you have to be uncovered for short periods of time like at a outdoor function requiring shorts or sandals. I LOVE the 100 SPF dry spray sunscreen from Neutrogena and even the CVS brand. It goes on lightweight and clear. Apply your sunscreen before you go out about 10 mins prior and reapply every hour that you are exposed to the sun. so a 3 hour event means 2-3 applications. A like coat no need to drown yourself. ALSO KEEP THE SUN DAMAGED AREA CLEAN AND MOISTURIZED!

At one point, my Vit D was 9. Saw a specialist to find out bc doctor was blowing me off. Was prescribed 50,000 IU tablets of D3 (not D2) for several months to get it back up. What I didn’t know until later was that Vit K helps with absorption of D3. So it’s important to take both together. Game changer!

I just had my A1C checked, and my doc did a full panel instead and said my Vit D was low. So I decided to check the actual number after you mentioned the 30 as a minimum "wage" amount. I was shocked to see my number was 17 😮 We have an appointment coming up and feel a prescription may be in my near future.

I am feeling terrible, I am in the Midwest. So, I know my symptoms could be Vitamin D deficient, but so far I went to two Doctors asking to do a vitamin d test for me they all basically says no. The first one said vitamin deficient is not my problem with doing the test. Every other test is fine. The other one said the insurance won’t pay for it. I said ok, I can pay for it. Then, silence. Can I find a Dr. out there that cares?

Thank you for sharing your story. I hear you and am sending a virtual hug 🤗. There are a few ways that you might be able to self-pay for a Vitamin D test: 1) Quest Diagnostics: www.questhealth.com/product/vitamin-d-test-17306M.html 2) Everlywell - www.everlywell.com/products/vitamin-d-and-inflammation-test/ They also provide educational sessions led by healthcare professionals 3) Check out my video with Dr. Breanne Kallonen, in the description box there are links to blood tests that she offers as well. She also sees patients virtually. You deserve great care and as frustrating as it is sometimes, keep searching, I believe you will find the best provider for you.

Has anyone looked into something called spermidine? It is a supplement that is so good for your body with the side effect of growing hair among other things. It is great for slowing down the aging process as well. You want to find the natural supplement because it contains two other things that work with it. There are a lot of synthetics out there that will not work as well. I am just now doing the research on it, but I thought you might want to do some research yourself. I have been taking 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 with 200 mg of K2 daily. I started taking a small amount of D3 years ago, but it simply was not enough. I am white and go to the tanning bed only 2 times a week in order to help me with sad feelings. I also absorb Vit D from it. My point is that the small amount of D3 I was taking was not helping me. My levels were still low. 10,000 IU took me to high normal limits. There is also a debate on whether K2 actually has a blood clotting effect. I do know that you never want to take Calcium without K2 unless you want calcium deposits in your arteries and joints. K2 takes calcium to the bones. D3 is also important in helping to prevent breast cancer, however, correct doses are vital. If you are not taking enough it is not going to help. It is very difficult to overdo D3. Don't be scared of it. The national recommendations are a joke. Remember, the government is not exactly our friend when it comes to keeping ourselves healthy.

So is it better to take vitamin D then to take vitamin D3? And then what is the difference between the vitamin D and vitamin D3? And do you happen to know, is it better to take a vitamin " the main letter" versus its counterparts, example is it better to take vitamin B versus taken vitamin B6 and vitamin and B12 and complex B?

You're welcome and thanks for sharing your question. Since I am not a practitioner, I can't provide a specific answer to your question, but as a patient, I understand that there are often multiple factors that contribute to conditions like alopecia. It's common for several strategies to be used in combination, such as supplements, nutrition, medication, and topical solutions. This video focuses on one of many strategies that can be considered. You guys are so beautiful. I want to agree with you about food as the 1st source but let me share what i have witnessed with a male friend of mine. It was during 2021 and he went for his annual check up, the female doc could not believe why his vitamin D levels were so good as he didnt take vitamin D supplement. So he thought thatt was worth sharing with me. I knew he was a golfer and told him thats why. He's also a beautiful black man. In the bible, our people while in Egypt were out making bricks in the sun all day and we were a strong healty people as it states. Its cause our levels of D were high. So i say that for some to get tested then just try that sun approch as well and then test again . Barbara O'Neal suggests 1st morning sun and evening sun which has lots of benefits. Also rebounding gets the blood flowing all over the body, head too. Its a low impact exercise small trampoline. Change my life, thought I share
