Extreme Film Enthusiast reviews "The Godfather" yet again. This time we will pay close attention to the character of Connie Corleone.
Francis Ford Coppola and Mario Puzo's collaboration has given us countless legendary characters and all 3 movies were describing very much male-dominated masculine society.
Women are mostly relegated to housewives lacking any of their own agenda. That is all women, but ONE.
Connie has the biggest growth of all characters through the entire trilogy and she's my favorite character in "The Godfather: Part III" (a.k.a. "Godfather: Coda"). The reasons for this are described at greater length in the video.
Also, even though she's always overlooked in discussions, she's actually the one child that resembles the Vito the most.
Talia Shire also did an amazing job with the character and her performance is on par with bigger household names from the trilogy such as Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Robert DeNiro, Robert Duvall, John Cazale and James Caan.
This video essay is a follow-up to an earlier video about The Godfather cross-cuts, but this one can be enjoyed autonomously as well, the original video is NOT a mandatory prerequisite.
Disclaimer: all the footage in the video are originated from the movies: "The Godfather" (1972), "The Godfather: Part II" (1974) & "The Godfather: Part III" (1990).
I do not own any of these, the footage, including the background music is used according to KZitem fair use standards and video is designed for the entertainment and education purposes.
