I just purchased (another) Canon EF. It came in a lovely black real leather-case, with a 50mm Canon lens, a Tamron 28-80mm Macro, and Soligor 180mm 1:3.5.. The Soligor is actually M42, but has a very wellmade "converter". Just discovered that the mount on the Tamron can also be changed.. I love vintage Japanese engineering!!

I've owned lots of Vivitar Series one lenses, and i found that were very hich quality approaching the quality of brand name lenses. Some interesting zoom ranges. It might be interesting to follow the progress of flash units through the years. I too had a high power flash unit with a over the shoulder lead acid battery. I think it was Graflex. Thanks, Mr Woo for another great video!

I have never seen a Vivitar like this. I have two 75-205/ 3,5-4,5 one for P/K and the other is for Nikon AIs. I shall check them after I come back home.

I had a Vivitar lens back in my early days shooting film on my first Yashica camera. Always had a thing for the moon and got a Vivitar 500mm f/8 telephoto lens to shoot it, I recall having to screw on the adapter to use it. Lots of film wasted due to a crappy aluminum tripod I was using, mostly blurry images. Ahh to be young without money and have to save for months to get your desired gear. :)

I own a mint 70-210mm F3.5 Series 1 Vivitar macro which produces superb images and it cost me next to nothing. I also own a Soligor 350 mm F5.6 lens with a Nikon F mount which also takes extremely good pictures. I bought it at a flea market for $20...its a joke considering the quality it produces. Both of these lenses are all metal and built like tanks unlike the plastic junk offerings of some modern lenses, I actually use the Vivitar on a regular basis for macro work.

Seems like its similar to guitars. Everyone likes the vintage stuff.. Why dont they just keep making the good products everyone wants instead of trying to sell everyone on the newest models? Isnt that a no brainer or am I crazy?

Not really a vivitar fanboy but their speedlights were good value ...🦘

You took the words out of my mouth Roy. My first Nikon camera I bought a Vivitar speedlight. A couple of years ago I bought two mint condition Vivitar Professional Model #1321 Tripods. They are so stout and great for mounting virtually anything. I use them regularly in my photo "lab". For field I use carbon fiber. -Jim

I still have a Vivitar 285 HV which I bought new in the mid 70's. It still works as well as the day it was made although these days its more or less just an ornament in my camera cabinet.
