Can you demonstrate how to collimate this model? Vixen offers absolutely no support and my new scope is in need of collimation. Or perhaps an info source as to how to do this. thank you!

Hi, I want to use a Lunt 60 tilt tune solarscope with this mount, but I wonder if this tripod is low enough to use it when you sit down on a low chair . Or is the vixen porta mini better for that, it's also cheeper...thanks for the tip.

Sean, these are wonderful little scopes. I have been given one that has been badly treated and the mirror needs replacing, or re-mirroring. I cannot find info anywhere on how to separate the mirror from the mount. It seems to be held by a black rubbery adhesive and the unit won't unscrew to release the mirror. Can this actually be separated from the metal tube that it sits on? Is there a solvent that is used to release the black adhesive and allow me to unscrew the two halves, or is there a trick i don't know? Can I buy a new mirror, or the complete unit with the mirror and tube (I don't know what to call the metal tube that passes through the mirror) i should mention i have made a small engineering addition that removes the 'mirror flop' when focusing, which is nice to use. Thanks for the review. I am surprised i don't see more of these around they are so nice. Trevor
