Quick thought about your XMax hard starting when it sits in the sun a long time. Maybe it could be vapor locking? Try popping the gas cap open so it can release pressure in the tank before you crank it over..?

Just out of curiosity, is vapor locking normal, or is there some kind of malfunction that causes it?

@@zacharythompson9637 I’m not really sure why it’s doing that’s the part I don’t understand

@@zacharythompson9637 It’s basically the fuel heating up and some of it evaporates. This leaves an air bubble of sorts and it can stop the flow of fuel. Old cars would have this happen with carbureted engines.

The starting issue of your Xmax is concerning. I have been debating on getting one for my wife to ride since I have a rebel 300.

It only when the temperature is above 75 and it sits in the sun for six hours. Never have any problem with it starting any other time even the bitter cold.

From the looks of it because the guys shop is very small he's keeping his selection simple. Only selling what does best for him. The Tao Motors are a Chinese made scooter. There's nothing wrong with them but they are a very budget machine so they're best suited for people who know how to tinker and troubleshoot when a problem comes up. Sadly a lot of people who buy them are someone with no experience who is shopping for their first scooter looking for a deal and tend to lack maintenance know-how. If you're good with keeping it maintained and repairing things when they break they work just fine. The little GY6 engines on them are simple to work on even if something major needs fixing. I don't know much about the Wolf brand scooters but I think they're a US based brand. But the scooters are made in China to a much higher quality standard. Don't quote me on that though I've never seen one in person. Kymco is a Taiwanese brand and are made in Taiwan. They're very good scooters for the money and are very reliable. Of all the big brands Kymco is still one of the few besides Suzuki and some European brands to offer a large displacement scooter. Their largest model is the AK-550 which I would love to own someday. The thing is like the Cadillac of large scooters. If you're someone who just wants to hop on & go and give it simple maintenance then the Kymco is your best choice.

@@slowridersmotovlog201 Not a problem. My friend and I own Chinese scooters. They're like anything else that's made. You're always going to have some that are higher quality than others. A lot of scooter "purists" tend to make fun of them because they're not a Yamaha, a Honda, a Vespa, BMW or any other high dollar unit. But if you take a look here on YT there is a big following for them with a lot of people who love to modify them. Some even go to the lengths of swapping out the original engine on the Ruckus to a 150cc GY6 for more performance and cheaper maintenance.

I think your best bet is to buy another Honda, used if you have to. While Kymco scooter's are better than any of the others you mentioned, they still fall short of Honda's in terms of longevity and reliability. look for a Honda Metropolitan they are often half the price of a used ruckus

I've had a few kymcos. The 50 you were looking at would go 45 on Florida flat roads. I'm 235 pounds and did Uber eats on it and never had a problem with it. I also had a wolf and wouldn't recommend it.

Sounds like your scooter is vapor locked when it sits in the sun for an extended period of time. I wonder if you have a pinched vent line or something of sort. Hope this helps! Thanks for the videos!😎
