Would highly suggest NOT putting a mirror above you TV! That is if you actually use the TV, it can be very distracting if you or guests are watching the tv and catch your reflection or if you’re watching during the day and the sun hits it and beams it into your face!! I would also tend to stray away from anything with glass for the same reason as well (aka a framed print or picture etc) as light can also glare off of them. I think it looks fine with nothing honestly but i always suggest a textile based piece for on top of or behind TVs because it won’t bounce any light and also can be easier to find a bigger piece for less than a big piece of traditional art would cost. I personally have a large antique flag hanging above my TV which I thought might be too distracting but I love it!

loved this vlog lizzy! i think you could pop the chair in the ‘cardboard box corner’ but maybe if you add that tall lamp and a plant to that corner aswell it won’t look as awkward? you could always stack boxes on the chair haha. then you can jig things around the tv and pop the pouf in the corner between your black mesh chairs and the tv stand!

New chair doesn’t work in that room ..too crowded in the tv area ..maybe in bedroom. Too many chairs in living room. I think you really need a large neutral rug then the pouf can live where it was near window or opposite the chairs on the floor it just looks lost because it’s floating on the floor . If it was on a rug it would work, Rugs pull everything together ..yes a plant in dining room corner and one in the window .

Loving the new bits of furniture you've accumulated ....I feel the back wall with the TV is too cluttered and would benefit a bit of a scale down of vases & books etc The opposite wall with the sofa is more minimal. Have you tried the plant or floor lamp in the corner in the dining area?

I love all the furniture bits! I think the wall with the tv is too full. Maybe move the chair a little forward and use the pouf as a foot stool (as others have suggested). I think the plant could be moved forward too, where it will also get more light. You could also move the entire cabinet to the place where the cardboard lives and then the chair and pout will have more space spread out (then the plant or one lamp could be moved to the chair side as well). Anyway, that’s a ton of possible ideas!

Everything doesn't need to be up against a wall. The pouf looks good by the window , just pull it out a little. Push the two black chairs together a bit more and leave them. Float the other chair halfway between that gorgeous cabinet and the coffee table...a bit closer to the table. More space around the edges and less in the middle is best.

Lizzy: Maybe avoid bringing the retinol up to your eyes, and cut it off at the cheekbones. Some of my creams I have to avoid the eye area (like anything with an SPF), and it seems to do fine everywhere else. Also, how about putting the new chair in-between the old chairs (so it kind of mirrors the bay window in the back), and the poof where the new chair is currently. If you take the white thing off the new chair, it also looks like you could see through it a bit.
@sherrie384

Obviously it's a different choice for everyone but you're actually meant to take retinol under the eye (and all products to the lash line) just mix it with eye cream or a moisturiser as the skin is thinner there. Also need to make sure you apply SPF under/around the eyes as well - a lot of people don't realise that not applying it there contributes to darker under eyes.

Hi Lizzy, I had to stop the video to say put the chair back it needs to have something to ground it (a side table and a lamp). What would really help the tv wall would be a taller tv unit with shelves to take up some of the wall volume. Hi Lizzy, the giant pouf cushion is distracting from the Bertoia chairs, which as you know, are works of art and should be left on their own. Good luck. xo

I have the exact same problem with rings and knobbly knuckles and thinner finger bases, it's terribly annoying. As far as the space goes, how about flip the room down the middle, as in swap the sofa and tv walls but leave the two chairs, and coffee table and luigi cabinet where they are, might give you a fresh perspective on it without losing the main aspects you like. Whatever you end up doing I'm sure it'll be great, looking forward to wednesdays video already! Much love x

I would put the chair in the cardboard corner, with a plant and some stacked books or magazines (or even a little stand and a lamp). And then the pouf sort of floating around, but maybe mostly living on the side of the sofa and coffee table, splitting the room up a little bit?
@SweetMomilicious

Try tucking the poof under the coffee table (might be too large) or set it in front of your new chair like it's an ottoman. If you tuck it under coffee table you want it to stick out so it has a layered look. Or just have it floating on the right side of the coffee table. You could push your two black chairs closer to the windows and set the poof in front of them. As for the mirror how about get a floor length one that you can lean against the wall between the tv console and the new chair (mostly behind the chair) so it sits behind them, again to give a layered look. Important in decorating to not line things up in a row but to group them and layer them. Also I wonder if your artwork in dining room would look more contemporary if you hang it off center as right now the scale of it is small for the wall. If you move it to the right and put a tall plant in that corner then the two would feel like a grouping. Off center feels more modern and less expected. A hide rug would look great under your coffee table in cream and caramel. Would ground the coffee table so it's not floating in the room but would leave most of the beautiful would floors exposed. I might help with echo and sound as well. Just a few suggestions :)

Hi Lizzy, love your content. Everytime you show the lounge room since you moved in I keep thinking the Luigi cupboard would look really good over in the dining room against the shorter wall u see when you come out of the kitchen or where you tried the chair in that corner if it would fit. That would free up that corner for the new chair without it looking crowded and the poof popping out from under the new chair or the coffee table., Also a rug in the lounge would ground the couch and chairs.

Hi Lizzie if I was you in regard to your living room I would style it as follows. Get a large fruit salad plant for in front of the windows. Get two long length mirrors to go above the tv (sit either side) Move the picture above your table in the middle of the two mirrors . Move your wooden drawers behind your table . Put the new chair in your bedroom . Ditch the poff it just doesn't work in the room. You could get a mini long bench to go where you put your recycling and pop a lamp on that and some other style items. Maybe move the bar cart over to where the wooden drawers are at the moment or even put it in front of your windows. Get some more pot plants stagger their height beside the tv either side so its balanced . Move your big lamp where the bar cart is now.

Love that leather chair, not sure it works stylistically with the bertoia ones thigh as maybe a bit too rustic in comparison. If you want to go rustic though I think the floor cushion can work floating about the coffee table if you had two. Symmetry can add importance. Your space has very high ceilings which makes it more hard I think. Expect you’ll get there...

Maybe put the wooden chair on the left of the TV stand with enough space between the two items - I think it's too much wood built up the other way around with the wooden unit, wooden TV stand and wooden chair all cluttered together. And move the lamp set up to the right of the TV stand - maybe switch out the big chunky lamp for your new french connection one so that the set up isn't too cluttered or bulky? And then move the two chairs by the bay window slightly apart so that the pouf can sit between them

Just get rid of the pouf lol I think thats the issue. It doesn't belong to this space with the current furnitures. It clashes with the 2 black chairs (not in scale-small for this space. maybe use it in the office?) & coffee table which is very modern. OR you can get another pouf and get rid of those 2 chairs since the color of the pouf does go well with your sofa and your wall art =) Check out Studio Mcgee on here. I also like the idea of a rug to soften the area where the sofa and coffee table are. It would pull everything together. I would also throw the puff on the opposite side of the coffee table, kind of tucked under the table. The chair in the corner near the unit is fine if you were to pull it away from the corner. So many people have a tendency to put everything around the perimeter of the room, but pulled out a bit so it sits on an angle in front of the cabinet might work. You need bigger plants that are wider as opposed to tall and linear. I also agree with one other commenter that this wood chair may not be the right style with your wire chairs. It just all looks too leggy. You should get a slipcovered comfy chair for this room so that there aren't too many legs in that room. I think that what this room is missing are books. If you could find some great leaning bookcases in black and have them flank the tv unit and fill them with books and magazines. Lean pictures on the shelves. It would give the room some warmth.

Hmm maybe try moving the two wire chairs to the angle of the diagonal windows with the pouf doing the same but other angle, and just placed slightly further away from the window?
